Hey guys I always had the Idea of a Catapult Heroe Mech. I call my personal Catapult, Katyusha like this famous Rocket Launcher from the Soviets.
I would want to make the suggestions that the developers, could create a Mech with that Name.
It could have two LRM-20s and two AC-2s or Six MGs, as I saw that Six-MGs can be really devastating, and a 260 XL-Reactor and Artemis IV-Guidance, and the Name Katyusha written on the side of the Cockpit, in russian letters. (and this is just for fun, it could play the song Katyusha when it fires)
The Colors should be Blue-White-Red, as in the Russian-Flag, maybe in the Sherman shaped stripes, with Red stars on both weapon doors. Or alternatively the whole Mech in Black with Red stars on it and the name Katyusha in red russian letters to the side.

So that was my suggestion, maybe If you like it, write some comment and I make a poll to it, later.
Maybe you have Ideas for the improvement of this neat Idea. It is a desire for me to be able to have a Catapult heroe Mech.

The picture you draw in my mind looks great, but I do not think that it would be a good idea to introduce real world stuff into a fictional game. I would especially avoid nationalities and other identifications, as I believe that would only lead to flame wars.

And also i would like if they make Hero 'mechs based upon canonic variants used by notable pilots,just like Yen-Lo-Wang.

Hey this is nothing personal, or national, its just Mechwarrior. You know what goes through my mind when, I hear the Term missile Boat? I hear the song Katyusha and think about the missileplattform, so a Mech with that name would be really great, you know my actual Catapult, I call it Katyusha already, but with a Hero-Mech with that name, I would be really happy.
Its just an Idea I had, and I would really wish that, and I dont think that anybody would start a war about it. I mean the thing with the song was just a gack, but it would be cool though.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I did not mean that you would be like that. But my experience tells me that there are always people starting to fight about nationalities or identities. Even if it is just in a game. Furthermore I think it would break immersion to introduce real world stuff into the Battletech lore. I could imagine that it even might be disallowed by the licence contract.

Well in the end theres already something national to MechWarrior. I mean most of the Germans and/or Irish side with Steiner, and the Lyran Commonwealth, thats why I as a German chose it, because it is clearly a German thing, I mean when you look at Sarna.net in the MW Wiki, there you can see the official languages are German and English, then you have namesakes, like Donegal or the Isle of Skye, I mean it is clearly something terra-related, culture-related.
It is even more clear when you look at the Draconis Combine or the Cappellan Confederation. Even a guy with no Idea about MW can tell you, that the Dracs are clearly Japanese and the Cappies are clearly Chinese, and when you look closer in terms of Maskirovka you can see even Russian roots. And the Free Worlds League is more or less Hispanic. The Fed Suns, are the United States and/or France. And the Free Rasaalhague-Republic seems very Scandinavian to me.
So in the end I cannot see any trouble by calling a mech "Katyusha", and paint it with red stars, in blue-white-red.
