Alright, time for another one of my late night Off Topic queries to the fan base at large. As the topic title suggest, I'm wondering...

What Mech would the Founding Fathers pilot?

It's an international community, so I'll specify that I'm talking about America's founding fathers but, If you're Belgium, and you have a founding father that you feel would pilot a mech, I wanna know which chasis, model, and WHY!

I'll kick us off with the first one. If you disagree, feel free to pull any founding father from the cockpit and place him in the one you feel more appropriate. This is an intellectual debate.

Abraham Lincoln - Axman AXM-1N
Why? Because he was a tough old ******* with humble beginnings. He might not have been the most fleet of foot, but he sure could maneuver his way out of the woods and into a new patch of trouble. If you weren't paying attention, he'd lay you out with an AC/20 round to the chest. And ultimately, the only thing that could take the old axe-wielding sage out, was a headshot.

Seyla.

Ok, so, what do you think? Washington in an Urbie? Jefferson in a Spider? OF COURSE NOT! I'm obviously provoking you! What would they Pilot? I wanna know!

Well we have no "founding fathers" in Europe, we have kings and emperors that are waaaaaaay older and fought with swords, shiny armors and all, so it's hard to picture them in a 'mech. But I'll try !

- Louis XIV : Greatest King of France, piloted a Legacy. Because that's wath he left us with.

- Clovis, first King of the Francs, piloted a Timber Wolf. He's indeed a former man of the Barbarian tribes that conquered Gaule and made it its own. That's as close as it gets from a clan's man, so he gets a madcat.

- Napoleon the Emperor, piloted a Warhammer of course, sometimes a Marauder as well ! Why ? Because they are the greatest of course ! ;)

Lincoln isn't really a founding father, he was about a century late...

That said, the Hatchetman would have worked for Washington what with the apocryphal cherry tree and all that.

Ben Franklin in an Awesome. Both for the PPCs/Electricity thing, and because I can picture an awesome as a real ladies man type mech.

John Hancock. He'd probably pilot an Atlas. From his signature, we know he loves to stand out in a crowd. Attention would be drawn toward him and his Atlas, which is a perfect tank mech because of its armor. Plus, the Death's Head will call plenty of eyes to him.

George Washington would run a Battlemaster. Solid and rugged early assault mech with firepower and moderate maneuverability.

Thomas Jefferson would run a Shadowcat. Its perfect for lighting fast flanking and carries enough firepower to do some damage. Jefferson seems more of the crafty type.

Ben Franklin would have a Dire Wolf. It has clan tech (inventor ahead of his time) and it is rather large lol.

Doh. You're right. He's four score and seven years removed. Dully schooled.

i'm pretty sure canada does'nt exist in the battle tech universe so i guess it would probably be a strange beer powerd mech of some sort, one that has anti-gravity skates of some kind, it does well on really cold worlds though the pilots often take their leave on warmer ones, yeah, and this thing totally has a big L shaped gause rifle it carries around and uses is for melee attacks, yeah thats about right
