I saw a cool video about using a joystick with your left hand for mech movement combined with a mouse for aiming.

How the hell do I actualy bind joystick keys? I double click on an area to bind and it never registers my joystick, I also can't bind anything else. I also can't for the life of me figure out how to clear bindings that are in place.

Is there some FAQ that explains their keybindings system.

Go to the Support & Feedback section of the forums. Then go to Hardware & Accessories the first topic is for Joystick users. I hope this helps.

You can use a program called JoyToKey for joysticks that are too old to be supported.

MWO does not seem to recognize non-analog / non-digital joysticks. (aka ones with just buttons or touchpads).

I use this guy -- specifically the Left Hand part of it.

This combined with a 6 button mouse is quite luxurious. It also registers in the options on MWO by simply double clicking a control slot and then pressing the joystick button I want to use.

Some vids with it in use.

In order for it to accept the joystick button, you need to exit the game, plug in the joystick, and then restart the game.

I had to make sure the game had registered the joystick before anything would work.

It was pretty straightforward for me.

It's the cheap stuff. 40 to 50 at most sites, called a HOTAS Thrustmaster X. There's far better rigs, but for a budget it's not bad.

Try these two. If not, try the support section described here.

And if you still can't get it to work, try a joystick to keyboard/mouse program like JoytoKey.

Some great advice here already I'll just add this bit...

The best place to post with Joystick related questions is...
http://mwomercs.com/...re-accessories/

Look for responses from Loc Nar. Loc Nar is to Joysticks as Koniving is to New Player.
