I'm considering buying the overlord package for the phoenix program. Does anyone know if that includes mech bays for the twelve mechs you get or do you have to purchase those separately?

It comes with the mechbays. You can sell the non-phoenix varients after you are finished with them, and get 8 "free" mechbays (assuming Overlord) You cannot sell the phoenix varients, but 12 mechbays come with the package.

Just remember that Phoenix doesn't get released until Oct 15.
This is like a preorder but there is no guarantee that PP will be a available after Oct 15. It makes good business sense to extend it to catch all those fence sitters that will want a PP variant after they see everyone else with new shinies BUT don't rely on that.
Basically if you want PP and know you're gonna buy it, get it while it's available and not wait to see what PGI does. They could make the hard cut off 15 Oct - and that'll be it, no more PP forever.

They could also make the hard cut off release as well though I doubt they will do that.
The Overlord Includes:
4 Pheonix Mechs with 30% C-bill bonus and a LP bonus.
2 each of the standard variants that go along with the Phoenix mechs, basically everything you need to elite the chassis.
12 mech bays, one for each mech.
90 days of premium time
a bunch of cockpit swag that I will probably never use
plus
3 free colors, Phoenix Red, Black and Gray which just recently got unlocked due to the amout of purchasers.
Additonally as someone mentioned, you can sell any non-Phoenix variant you don't want for C-bills at the usual mech sale prices which will be a tidy sum of C-bills if you wanted to go that route. Also that would free up to 8 mech bays.
Edit: Oh I forgot, this is if you buy the Overlord Package. To be honest, it is such a great value that I am not sure why anyone would want to buy less than the Overlord but I guess some might want to stop at the Shadow Hawk.
