Like many of you I was ecstatic that the Battletech franchise got a reboot, but it has been over two years since I was able to play for the first time in many. There was so much that could have been invested in this game squandered in wasting resources and wasted time doing what seemed to be a cash grab instead of creating a universe that would have made the original creators proud.
We have less than three months until the official launch, and what was planned as this living breathing universe is now nothing more than spreadsheets and the backdrops of the Star Wars Anthology.
Welcome to MWO, enjoy your monotony.
There are so many fans in this community that it isn't even funny, programmers and artists and even dreamers willing to sacrifice their time for the games they love. Many companies such as Valve software and Bethseda have tapped this cheap and powerful resource much to the delight of the consumer, expanding and improving on already great intellectual properties.
PGI on the other hand has refused the help of its community either by contract or by their own volition. This is a crying shame because there is so many willing to help for little or nothing because they believe in this franchise.
Dear PGI, we want this game to succeed in every aspect imaginable, but we need you to listen very closely to what we have to say. We as the community have the ability to collaborate on this scale unimaginable to many, we have the ability to outpace almost any game studio imaginable. Most companies have accepted us with open arms to let the community decide quality ideas into their intellectual properties.
My plea to you is to hold at least one community driven contest every 1 to 2 months to expand this game and keep within budget, either maps or cockpit items. We as the community will work vigorously for what we love, even for that imaginary currency to buy more funthings
Who here would love a community map or item contest?
