Now this has already been reported but PGI-Support closed the Topics without really looking in to it:

http://mwomercs.com/...mbot-is-bugged/

Now i first too was thinking this would be a aiming assistance (Aimbot) for the 3PV.
Then i tried it in the testing ground again and it looks like this:

It seems that they only moved the line of sight to the weapons or lower CT instead of line of sight from the cockpit and pilots point of view in the FPV. This jumping of the crosshair is a rusult of that.
It's like if you fire a wepon from your hip with a laseraim. In FPV the laseraim/ Crosshair is in the cockpit while in 3PV the laseraim/crosshair is attached right to barrel of your gun.
I understand that it is quite important for 3PV but it still remains an advantage over FPV since this helps to see if you would fire over a hill or into it... Works a designed?

Now what is it? Bug or Feature?

it is absolutely a big, whether intended or not. when trying to walk around your crosshair is constantly lurching around. if i try and strafe my crosshair from side to side it will sometimes jump as far as 2 inches on my screen.

in essence if sort of feels like i'm using an aimbot but with the added frustration of it also targeting friendly mechs.

i don't think it has anything to do with a line of sight difference as it will also lurch to mechs that are out of sight behind cover.
