AWS-9M "Allesyria"
http://goo.gl/jPbxhn
350 STD engine, 20 DHS, 432 armor points and a 1.32 heat efficiency.
This mech is a beast and thought it lacks a lot of long range equipment it more than makes up for it by being an exceptionally cool running mech.
Just using the 4 mediums and large laser or Srm's this mechs is almost heat neutral. You can constantly put alpha after alpha on target in all but the most lengthy of engagements which IMHO is exactly what you need for an Enforcer. High Intensity fighter, something that just doesn't stop throwing damage.
I highly recommend it.
AWS-8Q "Wraithwitch"
http://goo.gl/j77X9V
This is your traditional awesome with the addition of 2 more small lasers and 20 DHS. It doesn't seem like much considering the heat changes to PPC's and the Heat penalty for firing multiple ones. The trick is to simply Chainfire the PPC's. Don't let up and just send a constant stream of energy projectiles down range on target. The combination of chainfired PPC's and the sheer number of barrages thrown down field just outguns anyting else.
Personally I prefer backing the engine down to a 290 STD and running a ERPPC, 2 Large pulse and 3 mediums but then it doesn't quite fit into Enforcer or Vanguard role. But it still lays out the law.
AWS-PB "Elise"
http://goo.gl/0YXRfn
This is the only Pretty Baby load out I can stand to use. It also works out pretty well. Once again keep the PPC's on a chain fire. There is no need to rush into a fight, use those PPC's until they push into you, then answer them with speed and SRM's.
Plus bonus points for being able to fit both Endo and FF upgrades on an Assault mech!.
AS7-D "Kalypso"
http://goo.gl/IBceyj
This is probably the finest Atlas i've ever built. It is one hell of a lot of fun, and obliterates targets.
Keep the AC2 and the AC10 bound to the same firing group so the fire at the same time. Just hold down the trigger and watch as damage stacks up like a slot machine. Aim for the their heads. Generally you will end up hitting their CT anyways but the explosions from the AC2 will suppress any mech, make them flinch and turn
The true strength of the Atlas has always been it's ballistics and missiles allowing you the most damage for the lowest heat. So what you do is use the combination of AC's and LRM's on target until they get under the LRM range, then open up with the Quad meds as the engagement dictates.
This is an absolute bear of a Warmachine.
VTK-8B "Olivia"
http://goo.gl/Uk1MfN
Just like the above Atlas, Olivia relies upon an AC2 and AC10 combo as it's main weapons back up by an LRM15 for long range work and for upclose and personal you have 2 meds and a SRM6 for burst damage.
This mech is solid with high mobility due to it's jumpjets. There isn't a role you can't fill and you are deadly at any range. It's a solid mech that is solid in any situation.
VTK-DS "Jez"
http://goo.gl/2xE6qY
I build Jez with the singular purpose to seek out and hunt down LRM / Support mechs or light mechs and annihilate them. I was surprised at how well it works. For lights the LB10-X negates a lot of the hit Registering errors as it spread pellets across a light mechs legs sanding them down. Few salvo's into the legs and you'll have completely shaved of armor.
It may not seem like a lot of boom but having an 80 ton mech go 90KPh with jumpjets able to bounce around the map negates so much incoming fire just by making them miss. Once you are engaged with Jez just never stop jumping. The only time you run or walk is to take the 3-4 steps needed for your jumpjets to fill back up and then launch yourself back into the air.
BJ-1DC "Deathstalker"
http://goo.gl/1QlNLF
I'm not sure why we don't have a role for hard hitting mediums. There simply isn't a viable mech out there that weighs less and packs more punch. For 45 tons this thing is a bag of nasty!
Don't believe me?
Fun starts at 2:20.
QKD-4G "Olga"
http://goo.gl/ZUnjxD
I dislike all QDK's with a passion. Not. A. Fan. Too big an no rear mounted lasers, but Olga and I have come to an understanding. Like an Ugly Russian ****** as long as I keep a bag over her head and keep my expectations low we can typically manage to have a good time.
This build is unoriginal, simple and almost Stock. But it manages to preform for me. Firepower is almost secondary when it comes to Quickdraws. You simply need a massive engine and lots of jumpjets to counteract the gargantuan Quickdraw profile and because of that it leaves little room for weapons AND heatsinks so you either run way too hot with too little heat sinks or you don't have enough boom.
Olga strikes that balance for me.
SDR - 5K "Vicious"
http://goo.gl/V3hDEL
This is one of the two spider twins I run. Vicious here is one mean Son of a *****. The combination of 3 machineguns and single AC2 is equal to 7 machineguns and a small pulse laser. I'm not sure how or why it ends up doing so much damage but I'll take it. Rarely do I finish a match under 400 damage.
Also you can back down the Engine to a Xl200 to add jumpjets but i prefer the speed.
Also don't waste too much ammo at long range, take a few plinky shots with the AC2 to get yerself an assist on them but save your ammo for when you are under 90m with the machineguns.
SDR-5D "Jade"
http://goo.gl/o0AeUg
This is the other spider twin, like Vicious this one trades a bit of firepower for jumpjets and ECM. Most people love using the XL255, I find this to be a mistake on the Spider. You simply lose too much weight that could be better used on weapons all for like an extra 15 kph. Not worth it in my opinion.
instead go with the XL235 with Endo and FF armor.
Now you have 9 tons of weapons which you an fit, ERPPC - 2 meds / 2 small pulse or ER large laser and 2 medium pulse, ect ect or whatever combination you like
I go with ERPPC and 2 small pulse lasers for drive by's.
Dragon-5N "Illeria"
http://goo.gl/d211bd
Xl255
X1 AC2 (x3 tons of ammo)
X2 AC5's (x6 tons of ammo)
x2 medium lasers
Don't use the meds until you are out of ammo. Having all of the ballistic weapons coming out of the same barrel makes this the metaphorical chaingun. Simply hold down the trigger.
Come around a corner and square off with an atlas, watch him die before your CT armor hits red.
JM6-A "Wynona"
http://goo.gl/3leIAH
255 XL
x1 AC20, (x3 tons of ammo)
x2 LRM15's (x5 tons of ammo)
x2 Medium lasers
May absolute favorite support mech. Alternatively you can drop a ton of LRM ammo to replace the AC20 with a Gauss, but I prefer the AC20 as your primary role is to support.
That's what this mech does it sits back and supports with it's LRM's but additionally has enough "Cowbell" to look after itself when light mech come calling or when an aggressive force catches it out of position.
Late game once most / all of your LRM ammo is exhausted you can sweep in with the AC20 as a fresh mech and clean house.
------------
Well that's it my best builds.

Here's a fun one if you've got a Dragon 5N lying around.
I played around with this before the most recent machinegun buff. The SRMs are just there for a little extra punch.

The trick is to not get anywhere near the enemy and plink at people from 600m-800m as long as you can. Then, when your ammo runs out you can move in and work on getting MG crits on open body parts. It's kinda like running a BJ-1, only you are smaller and have less lasers. I throw the ML on there because I personally refuse to run any mech with nothing but ammo-dependant weapons, but it isn't critical.
I've had several games with 4 kills and over 1100xp with this stupid little mech, so it can work. Of course, I've also been stomped into the ground by a fast assault or a couple lights, so it's kinda feast-or-famine. You just need to do everything in your power to stay the hell away from a brawl and it can work.

I started just throwing stuff together and watching my kdr dive lol. My latest is jager with a AC20 (4tons ammos), LRM 15 (2 tons), 2 Med lasers and a XL engine. Well ok that was my first non fail mech of the weekend.
Oh a BJ with an AC-20, 3 med lasers, jump jet and xl engine is hella fun.

They can be fun and challenging. I made a brawler who can't really brawl because his sternum starts off cracked, but when he gets a good line in then yeah.

For even more fun and challenge, swap the PPCs for LPLas and drop the SRMs for AMS and DHS. Super fun build, difficult to use well, and trolly as ****.

This is my Sniper/Brawler CatK2 build. Extremely fun to play. ERPPCs for long range or short range if you can aim them well enough, AC2 with plenty of ammo for long range support and close range light killing. Runs slightly hot (AC2 can fire constantly heat neutral, ERPPCs are just a little over heat neutral). Pretty fast for a heavy too and its got good survivability. Ive been thinking of ditching one heat sink for AMS (which I had on my previous build) for easier LRM dodging. Anyways, its one hell of a good time playing with this
