Please understand this is for Assault mode

This poll is to see how everyone feels about the old and new cap timers for Assault. Comments and/or concerns are appreciated. If you oppose the new timer please follow your vote with an possible solution to correct it.

I think the slower cap times are good for Assault, but in Conquest the flags are supposed to switch multiple times per map.

anything in pugs sucks. i think the cap times now make play more dumb. if your tactics suck your suppose to lose.

to many times i had to about face, and stomp my stalker to stop a cap. too many people dont care or get it. forget honor if your a light against two assaults. go cap! know your role.

I think the cap times in Assault should be adjusted a bit per map. Base cap in River City or Forest Colony is not possible, and don't need to be so long (they do need to be longer than the old timer though in 12v12).

In the bigger maps? They're fine.

Timers on smaller maps should be shorter and the reverse on larger. As things currently stand in assault, with the possibility of 12 mechs completely and utterly stomping the enemy, the last player has no hope in hell to pull out any semblance of a last ditch effort cap win for his / her team. They might as well pull a suicide run or just surrender for a bad beating.

Personally, I would like to see caps disabled until one team has lost half their forces.. As I play this game to shoot ****, not JUST base race cap without even seeing the enemy.

I still think attitudes need to change on Assault as well. With a team being up 10-7 on kills, a beat up light on the winning team goes for the base capture because he's badly damaged, and gets yelled at as a loser for doing it. Seriously>

The freaking caps NEED TO BE BASED ON MAP SIZE. The length of the cap is dictated PER MAP. Otherwise, there will be issues.

I've been saying this forever. Alpine should have a LONGER cap than Forest Colony. It's that simple. There should not be a fixed value... just a scaled value that makes sense PER MAP (it's fine if there's a formula too).

The new cap time is fine on Assault. However, the new timer breaks Conquest mode.

cap times should be done by either the tonnage of the mech, or weight class of the mech. a light caps slower than an assault. two lights cap faster than a heavy. etc etc to this degree

Seriously, bad idea. Lights already suffer in the meta. Capping is what they do, don't make them bad at it.

Love the new capping timer duration.
Prevent those ninja light mech cappers from cheesing the game too soon and trying to sound right ("Not my fault you did not defend" **** talk).
Yea...go join a conquest game if you prefer cap2win.
Lights in Assault games can play a more supportive role instead.

of course, and i agree. i made this point other times about knowing your role.

it does give other mechs incentive to cap, because as we all know, regardless of our teams ownage, we all lose from points... eventually i hope they put a death match mode.

regardless, i enjoy how they game plays.
