the kintaro is a awesome mech its just the center hotbox
makes it harder to live longer and do more damage
thats why i have 10 armor in both torsos since its hard to get them

Please please PLEASE downscale the size of the mech. The damage gravitation wouldn't be as big of an issue if the thing wasn't the size of a freakin' Atlas.

Useless addition to the game because the CT is too large = easy target.

Downscale + fix hitboxes.

I have yet to see more than 1 or 2 kintaro in a match, I don't think I've ever faced one head to head. Clearly, more of your userbase comes to the forums for info than you're ready to admit PGI, as the badness of this mech was heavily harped on here :)

Decided to take the plunge and grind through 18-20-19 (in that order). If you seen a 100+kph kintaro chasing lights around with SSRMs this weekend it could have been me.

Other than that particular build where you're moving at a fairly fast pace, this thing is a death trap. As every one says, it's ALL CT. Your survivability in any brawl can be measured in single digit seconds.

Its abundance of missile points and speed is its saving grace. As it is, I'd say wait until the CT fix to see it's worth buying.

I feel for those who spent MCs on the Golden Boy. Its lack of speed means it can't do one thing it might be able to contribute to the team as, namely, light chaser. As it stands, there are better mechs out there for every other role. I'm gonna pass on the Golden Boy. For just a bit more, you can get the FireBrand which is light years better and more versatile in comparison. Again slow + medium mech armor + all CT = ... I dont have to tell you the answer.

If you like chasing lights, other variants of Kintaro can be a lot of fun.

That is my main issue with it too. And why I will never buy one. Plus what is the point when I can duplicate its loadouts on other mechs.

leveled up my GB and 18. Now I'm halfway through my 20. These mechs have really grown on me. I guess you have to have a medium-mech pilot's mad-dog mindset to really enjoy the Kintaro. Once you discover the ideal roles and loadouts, you can have quite a bit of fun with them. I don't get killed anymore often in Kintaros than I do in any other chassis, in fact, I'm doing better in these than I did in Dragons, Blackjacks, or Centurions. And I can be a great addition to a team that works together. Even if the CT issue doesn't get fixed, I'll keep piloting the Kintaro.

Completely bugged and the scale is way off, why is a 55 ton mech so huge?
I want to like it, but I just can't.

There's no excuse for PGI to not fix it. They need to fix the Kintaro's issues...but who knows if PGI will actually do it. That's question I don't bother asking anymore.

You are all aware it handles in the same class as an assault 'mech via the movement system, as does the Quickdraw, because PGI decided "lol size=/=scale" and made terrain handling based entirely on size?

For all the Kintaro's faults, it is one helluva mech. I run a KTO-18 with 4 Streaks, 1 TAG, 1 MLas, 1 LRM20 w/Artemis, 1 BAP, and an XL 295. I run around at 95 KPH, and the only mechs I can't solo are PPC/Gauss builds, dual Gauss, and dual AC/20 builds.

Everything else is fodder for my LRM, Streaks, and MLas. Especially light mechs, and assault mechs.
