UAC/5s were always amazing. Its just, prior to the patch, you had to use a macro to maximize dps. But now the double shot is better than the single shot for dps. Which is always how it shouldve been.

UAC/5 double shot (25% jam) = 3.61 dps
UAC/5 single shot = 4.54 dps
UAC/5 doubleshot (15% jam) = 5.03 dps

This is a great fix. Most mechs who can't use dual AC5 and don't want to use the LBX10 now have a solid ballistic alternative instead of the older Jamtastic Ultra.

The Muromets was already great. Will be interesting to see how it handles now.

On the other hand, pinpoint alphas are still worse than any kind of DPS.

I am a bit confused. Seems to me that the UAC5 has been a fantastic weapon for a while now, macro or no macro. 'mechs that can use 3 of them have been very efficient for a long time. And now they get a buff?

Anyone wanna bet against me when I say that the UAC5 is the next balance problem PGI will have to fix?

Anyone wanna bet against me when I say that we are gonna have a ridiculous amount of Jagers and Cataphract starting today?

Not sure what's their point, but seems like instead of finding a solution to PPC+Gauss they are just buffing other random weapons.

Trip UAC/5 does pinpoint alpha. Its 15x2 damage every 1.1 seconds. Its like a super Gauss.

I dont think its OP though because its ammo limited, but its still scary as hell.

Amazingly enough, they actually did something I liked for once.

This is totally awesome/unexpected. My hands-down favorite weapon just got buffed.

Except I went on vacation because I thought this patch was going to be a little lighter than usual.

Now I am stuck in the Sierra Nevadas with smoke from forest fires and a grey overcast sky.

GG.

Ultra's should have never been programmed to have full damage shells and they could have avoided the whole convulted mess of "double shot 5 damage shells" and the whole "rolling the dice for your weapons is the best" jam programming.

Otherwise it will undoubtely create a very predictable mess with "double shot 2, 10, and 20 damage shells."

There is also the heat difference. The Gauss still has the lock on best heat.

UAC/10 and UAC/20 will be outright broken anyway. The Daishi-B can have five UAC/10s or three UAC/20s. GG.

Don't forget that three UAC5s weigh 27 tons versus 14 tons for a single gauss. And take up 3 ballistic hardpoints as well.

This may have just taken the UAC/5 from a Tier 2 gun to a Tier 1 gun, which I'm happy about!

I never stopped loving My UAC5s but they are now awesome again. Not as awesome as in early beta when they didn't jam at all, but 15% jam is what it should be. Back to cutting Atlases in half. FEAR MY ULTRA-CAT, for it is my most played mech since the beginning. Thanks for giving Fenrir back his FANGS.

Meanwhile, the poor old MG was deemed threatening enough to warrant a nerf.

I'll bet against you on that. It still requires you face your target longer than other weapons. It is, however, far more useful now and might actually have an acceptable niche.

This is good news (my Ilya is grinning). Actually, this whole patch seems good. I might even try the LBX-10 now.
