We were told numerous times that there were no plans to implement a 3rd person view when I bought my founders package back when the rumblings of a possible 3rd person view was mentioned. Now we have it to the dismay of a good chunk of the player base. What do we do? Do we continue to let the devs lie to us when we give them money in good faith? Do we demand refunds on the grounds of product misrepresentation? Or do we just sigh and let it happen. I haven't quite decided what i'm going to do; however I will not be giving this company another dime until I am satisfied that I am no longer being lied to or misled.

im just not going to play the game anymore until they enable the 1pv que. also thinking about canceling my overlord preorder tonight when i get home from work. imo everyone who wants 1pv only que should stop logging into mwo until they enable the 1pv only que.

Huge MW fan. I have played all of the games all the way through (including mechassault 1 and 2), I have almost all of the cards from the CCG from the 90's, TT stuff.... I could go on and on.

I do not care about 3rd person being in the game.

We were not lied to. This is a pre-production beta test. The developer is allowed to change their minds.

That's not a bad idea. I'll be honest though. I've played the game less and less since PGI told us 3rd person was coming, and I'm just losing interest due to dev dishonesty.

You're right. The dev is allow to change their minds; however, when you purposely mislead your player base with (paraphrased) we're only looking to see what it would take to implement it, we're not implementing it, or we have no plans to implement it and then you do implement it that is directly misleading and lying. If they said "we might add it in the future" instead of what they said, that would neither be lying or misleading.

its not a beta when you are selling premium time(subscriptions) and ingame items in the cash shop.

Pretty much. It doesn't accomplish the goal of helping noobs, as most of the time you can't see your leg orientation, and it does accomplish what it is not supposed to, allowing you to see around corners/over hills. These things are plain as day, and yet the Creative Director himself, Bryan Ekman, states it is no tactical advantage and they're re-thinking the plan for 1st pv qeue and 3rd pv queue split.

They've basically told 90% of their user base 'shut up, we don't care what you think'.

There is one thing we can do about it though;

Better do a forum search. Looks like they scrapped separate drops because they don't see an advantage to 3PV hehehehe.

I put up with a lot of stupid {Scrap} thinking that PGI was new to this IP and they would learn. But I drew the line in the sand at 3rd person. I am now voting with my wallet.

1pv is coming soon so i dont get why people are screaming betrayal at the top of thier voices, 3rd person was in most of the mechwarriors so it stands to reason that MWO would have it.

honestly guys you pride yourselves on being smart but you simply cannot see why they would add 3rd person? its to bring in those who dont want to be stuck to a limited view of a simulated cockpit, lets face it looking at the back of a giant robot is WAY cooler than being inside with limited view. its as simple as that really, they want to accommodate more players into the game.

Despite their stance or not the base reason is this:

It's ultimately a decision to broaden their market potential. Which, if I'm in Bryans' place and IGP was on my *** to make them money. I'd reconsider in a heartbeat. then do it in the next one.

The mistake the OP does is thinking that he or she speaks for the entire MW community... Beyond that everyone have a right to their own opinion.. No matter what basis it stems from.

I am not agreeing with the OP and i personally think the OP is a bit overly dramatic about the subject.

But to answer the question.

Ask for a refund if you feel you have been mislead, but be aware that you might lose access to your account permanently.

this is untrue. I got a refund in OB for being mislead, people have gotten them recently over this misleading design change, no one I have ever heard of has lost account access.

First off... I did not state an absolute.. It is not untrue. It is a fairly common practise in the market that a demand of a refund leads to the closuring of the account. Thus i think it is important to point out so that i have my back free from a moral pov. This is not the same thing as it WILL happen. In fact as this is beta there is a very good chance that you will in fact get your money back and only have the stuff removed (if at all that). But since i do not trust the general public to be able to boil water without fracking it up it never hurt to be extra clear.
