I'm just tinkering around a bit.

I always liked being the underdog, and after hearing this mech getting ridiculed by pilots more seasoned than I, well i figured I'd noodle with it a bit.

Plz suggest any and all improvements. i figured this would be a mech that would start fights from long range, spotters have been great lately. But at medium or short ranges, should he get treed, a little punch with no overheating to extract himself.

Or this for more of a Striker?

Thanks in advance, all opinions welcome.

A friend of mine does well (brawling) with this build...

It looks weak, but he gets tons of points and kills by playing as a fast striker.

You should post this on the "Mech Loadout" subforum.

I use SSRMS, XL400, and ERPPCs on my PB, and it is super fun.

the build i use is

xl 365 engine
3 SRm6
2 er ppc's
1 tag - for other people since im gonna be brawling might as well help track

about 4- 6 tons of ammo RT and CT - dun matter to much since if they core u yer dead anyway cuz of engine -
ferro fiberous -max -
standard structure
no artimiss
double heatsinks - just make use of the engine slots and or a LT and RT

works good i like it alot .
has a long range punch and a short range punch.
so anything in between gets annoying i just target with tag as i PPC ,so free missile lock ,then when they get about 270.
i just either chain fire srms or or fire all 3 at once as im taggin them.
sometimes if i just feel like being a long range pain i drop the srms for lrm 5's since they weigh about the same

the only probs i have is focus fire but that could be said for anyone

"just a lil note edit" - I set tag first on them when i get comfortable which lines up the shot for my ppc's and srms so its like sighting a target

tag is set to 1
er pccs set to 2 - chain fire
srm 6's set to 3 chain fire normally

On the first one, seems odd to have artemis and use ssrm's. You also have srm ammo instead of ssrm ammo. I'd suggest dropping the ssrms for srm4's

I suspect when an enemy gets within the LRM's minimum range, the OP will have a lot of trouble with the 1st build. The 2nd build, I'm not too sure about either.

The PB gets most of its punch from missiles, and imo you'll need something more potent than streaks. Either go full SRM6s, or full LRMs. That is, either commit to short range combat or long range combat. The PB doesn't have the hard points for a useful mixed range build.

Lose the AMS on the second build and install a BAP (beagle active probe) lets you use your streaks on mechs that are shutdown within 120 M and lets you use them on ECM mechs within 180 M. Not sure if those ranges are 100 % correct but beagle is the way to go when you have streaks.
