3pv doesn't matter because it's only advantageous in one situation and that's for scouting (and besides that I know you're there because you have a giant floaty red light blinking behind you). But I can level the playing field by using thermals to see when those people shoot at my team (and typically miss).

In addition those of you shouting at the top of your lungs "It's against everything the Mechwarrior games stand for blah blah blah!". It's not, and you obviously have never played another MW game. EVERY Mechwarrior game from MW2 onwards HAS HAD A 3RD PERSON VIEW. The only Mechwarrior game that hasn't had a 3rd person view is in fact the original one. Many of you here most likely consider either MW2 or MW3 to be the pinnacle of the series and yet that same group of you shout that 3pv is terrible and that you will leave MWO because of it.

If that's how you feel about MW games with 3pv, why did you play 2,3, and try 4? I'm a hardcore MW fan, playing the original up to 4 (4 wasn't that good) and I have yet to have a real issue with the item.

3pv really doesn't matter, and ultimately shouting, and threatening (either with the "I'm leaving" or with threats of violence that I've seen) will not get what you want.

So the real question is why is everyone shouting in the first place if the item itself is a minor issue?

Because PGI changed their minds. Because PGI doesn't have enough data to justify having a split queue right now. People in this test have probably never tested another game and because they spent money they feel entitled and they feel that the game shouldn't change and should conform to a small sect (see: #saveMWO) of people's opinions and wants because "I spent money.". Game devs change their minds and often it's seen as going back on their word but it's not, especially in this case. Why you ask? Because it's beta and EVERYTHING (core mechanics included) is subject to change. Nothing HAS to remain static. This is the agreement you signed when you entered the beta and bought that founders pack.

MWO isn't dead, and things can still change, and I have yet to see a mass amount of people using 3pv at all. Things can change, but shouting and threatening isn't going to get you what you want. Those of you involved in the UnifyandDrop or #saveMWO movement, when you speak don't speak as if you speak for everyone in this game and don't presume that even a majority agree with you. You need to calm down, be rational, stop saying the sky is falling, and wait and see.

Quite frankly, it's mostly been a non-issue in the games I've been in. Now and then, you'll see somebody use 3rd person thanks to the blinky drone, and while they probably gain an advantage from it, everyone else can see the drone. I suspect it has less of a negative impact than Seismic Sensors did since while the data provided from that module's "wall hack" ability was less complete, it bestowed no drawback on the user, unlike having a red "SHOOT ME!" blinking drone following you around.
