Some of my best gaming memories are Battletech-related... What about yours?

- Tabletop (getting my first Technical Readouts!)
- Playing the original Mechwarrior
- MPBT on Kesami/AOL/Gamestorm
- Discovering the special spot on each of the mech models that if hit would lead to a fast kill (and then proceeding to rack up a string of victories from then on out). Banshees were especially good at this. [MPBT]
- Holding training sessions late into the night to train people in the previously-described technique.
- Trying to remember where the Liao bar was on Solaris at 1 AM and getting hopelessly lost in Marik territory [MPBT]
- Taunting Davion (and almost winning the house wars several times!) [MPBT]
- No Heading, No Legging!
- Dropping in matches until they took the servers down finally.
- The few glorious months of MPBT3025 and all the promise it showed.
- Joining a merc corp in MW4 and enjoying team games with more than just a lance
- Discovering MW:LL and playing the crap out of it.
- Finding this place, full of familiar faces and friends of old!

Playing the original MW game exclusively in the Locust, hauling arse out to do an end-around on the attacking Mechs and legging them before they could destroy what ever it was I was providing defense to...

Sigh... I can never be a Clanner... I fight too damn dirty.

Writing this made me feel nostalgic. I found my old MPBT unit's website!

The site even includes the old Inter-House Lance League (IHLL) rules! I need to see if i can move it off Tripod... it might be useful to have, if it's possible to resurrect this unit.

I remember building all the HTML, images, and even the Flash intro back in the day. Good times.

fighting my dad in a first battletech game and shooting his Madcat in the face with a gauss cannon. *sigh* pleasant memories.
also Mechcommander 2 the most epic part was when i defeated hard on my first time in Hard campaign and took me about a day!

Well, this one time, at band camp....

Probably the time in TT when my solitary UM-60 held a flank against an enemy lance (meh, recon - but it still counts) and proceeded to help take down a Battlemaster. The dice gods favoured me big time.

Dropping a Direwolf with an Awesome. Knocked out the head armor and the crit was cockpit

Piloting a Phoenix Hawk Lam in air-mech mode, strafing an assault lance made up of Mad 5A's head shotting two of them before an Imp knocked me out of the sky. I hit, skidded about 50 miles and finally ran into a mudbank of a lake. Destroyed juts about everything on the mech, but got up and limped away.
The miniature rules were a hoot!

Played Megamek recently.
On a Seaport map there was an enemy Stalker on the edge of the water. I had a Victor and decided,"What the hey! Who needs to shoot bullets, anyhow?" and charged the sucker. The attack sent it tumbling into the sea, smashing the mech and breaching the cockpit. It was a good kill.

Wow, coming here is like a rush of Nostalgia! Man, those were the days. My best memories were in MPBT with Fireclan, No Mercy, and Saxons. Hmmm wonder if we can start up our old units in here under CCAF like the old days!
