Why The C-Bill Nerf Was Wrong.

Ok so PGI says were earning too many c-bills. What would any sane game developer do in the same situation? Well its quite simple really... they would add more money sinks to their game.
Instead of nerfing the amount of c-bills earned, PGI should've added more meaningful ways to spend c-bills, which accomplishes the same exact thing: removing excess c-bills, but without ******* off players in the process.

Yeah.
I cannot lie.... I have stopped playing completely. I was one of those still holding out until August for the Phoenix package, but this is the final nail in the coffin keeping me from buying.
The funny thing is that they did shoot themselves in the foot here. I get they are trying to drum up MC purchases, but by showing they are willing to kill all productive play in the game from this nerf, effectively they are telling us players our time is worth nothing at all and we are to expect no rewards in game. This makes me want to play less and absolutely want to PAY less.
If this CBill nerf is not returned to previous levels or even buffed beyond, PGI will never get another dime from me. It was perfect before. Now it is so far gone, I feel there is very little progression at all, which DOES NOT MAKE ME WANT TO BUY MC.

The problem is, they don't need more money sinks in the game as they have plenty already. I won't go into detail about it again but as I have posted in numerous threads, we have well over 1 billion C-bills worth of items we can buy and more is coming out every month. It would take the average player probably at least 18-24 months to aquire that amount.

Disagree. They really do need more money sinks. I have hundreds of millions of cbills and nothing to spend them on. I guess I could start buying random XL engines but thats silly. That's why it bothers me so much that they nerfed cbill income rather than adding more money sinks. The economy has already been injected with so many cbills, that nerfing cbills at this point is only going to hurt future players, but it wont do anything to get rid of the pile of cbills I already have accumulated.

This is because of choice, not that you have nothing to spend the C-bills on. I sincerly doubt you have one of each chassis fully outfitted in your garage including all module slots filled.
Maybe this is the real problem. How do you balance someone who is happy to only have 10 mechs fully outfitted against someone looking to collect all the mechs in the game?
I am not saying you only have 10 mechs but I am not going to lie, if I stopped buying new variants, I could easily have a couple hundred millions C-bills laying around collecting dust. Of course this is after a year of playing the game.
So yeah maybe they do need some more money sinks, maybe make vanitiy MC items buyable with huge ammounts of C-bills. Want a Camo pattern? 75 MC or 50 million C-bills. New colors, 100 million C-bills each. Statue for the cockpit, 500 million C-bills. It would have to be on the top end though, not something that punishes players trying to just get started or those that just want to focus on collecting mechs. This of course is why an economy nerf it bad. It just makes the game a grind for no reason.

You play alot more than me then because I only have 18, 4 of them either heroes or founders mechs. Also only own 1 module total and only have like 500k in the bank at the moment.
I find the game a struggle at the moment because I am stuck deciding on buying modules for all 18 mechs at 3-6 million a piece x 2-3 per mech, buying new mechs I want to try out, saving for the September release mech (which I believe will be the much awaited Orion) and the need to save up around 40 million C-bills to by XLs, DHS, Endo, etc for the 12 mechs I am getting in October with Pheonix. Last thing I needed right now was for my income to be cut by 50% per hour.

Just for a comparison: War Thunder 40h playtime -> ~30 unlocked planes (and some guys say the grind in WT is bigger then in MWO O_o)
Actually for ME (and btw for two friends of me too) the current grind is way to high to continue playing, it lacks variation and the balance problems, 3PV, maps like terratherma and lack of communication killed my last bit of motivation to play the game (beside perhaps 1 game per day)
