It's got a faster reload speed, and you can also fire once each reload with the possibility (15%) of it jamming for 5 seconds and not being usable during that time period. This means that you can either use it as a better AC/5, or you can hold down the trigger and do absolutely absurd damage with it, at the cost of it having a 15% chance to jam with every extra shot.

ac5 also gets 5 more ammo per ton and takes up 1 less crit space. My advice is if you are going to use just 1, as a supplementary piece to your array, go with the AC5. But if you are going to rely on it as your main arsenal, with 2 or 3, go UAC5.

Yes. More than 1 UAC5 it's worth it those 15%. 3 UAC5 are just nasty right now.

if you want to see them run away with their mech in pieces use an ac/5, if you want to see them most likely die while trying to run away use uac/5.

Unless your doing a 4XAC5 build, use UAC5's. The biggest con right now is that the UAC5 goes through ammo REALLY fast.
Also everyone says that the UAC5 jam is 5 seconds, I swear it's only 3 whenever I try counting to confirm this. I need a stop watch haha

UAC5 also looks pretty awesome on newer mechs, big ol gatlin style barrels (used to look absolutely fantastic on blackjacks but they shrunk it down to mgun size recently)

UAC/5 has one of the highest DPS values in the game. The only real disadvantage (other than the weight) is that you have to stay on target and expose yourself to maintain your DPS. This disadvantage isn't as exploitable in solo drops, though, making the x3 UAC/5 Ilya Muromets a beast in solo drops.
