Just played around in the Mechlab/offline for a bit and noticed that my Centurion A and L seem to be too slow - at least according to smurfy's. I configured the L in smurfy's just like I have it in the game. STD 240 engine + Speed-tweak, and the mechlab shows 77.7 top speed. Tested it offline and that was the speed it achieved. According to smurfy's, 77.8 should be the unmodified speed for the engine/chassis combo, actual in-game speed with tweak should be 85.5. Checked it with my YLW, but here values from smurfy, mechlab and ingame were consistent and it achieved the higher speed thanks to speed-tweak.

Thought it might have something to do with Speed-tweak on XL-vs STD-engines (I run an XL in my YLW), but putting an XL240 in the L-model still didn't give me the speed-boost.

Am I missing something here?

Tested offline as in the testing grounds where pilot efficiencies like speed tweak don't count?

Try it in a live match, I bet it works
