Just popped in to see how House Davion measures up. Anyone know who the strongest houses are? and weakest? Is there a board somewhere?

Right now on paper the Fed Suns are allied with the Lyran Commonwealth, creating the Federated Commonwealth and by far the largest military in the Inner Sphere.

The FedSuns are definitively the strongest House no matter the timeline. Unfortunately, they turned from the strongest House to some kind of Uber-House, most likely because the FedSuns strongly resemble the US of A, and the stupid jingoism of the current BT-line-developers. Consequently, they'll ever win (though they never succeed), no matter the odds (and no matter the logic). In addition, the post-3052 House Davion is more honorful, courageous, righteous, and chivalrous than King Richard I by far, and makes Mother Theresa look like evil incarnate.

During the Succession Wars and prior the Clan Invasion, the weakest House is House Liao, basically since they possessed less heavy industries than any other at any time by far. In addition, they lost roughly half of their planets during the 3030s.

In 3145, House Steiner lost almost everything, mostly thx to incredible FIAT, and it is arguably the weakest House in the Dark Ages.

I was curious about the current standings, which in the timeline is a blip and wouldn't be added to the story line (unless mwo starts to count as lore at some point).

actually by the time of the fedcom civil war house liao probably rivals davions in power. post fedcom they definitely exceed it. the strongest house militarily at the start of the jihad is house marik. the weakest is davion and steiner, because they suffered massive losses during the civil war. post jihad, the republic of the sphere is the single strongest power left. because everyone else clubbed themselves silly. once the dark ages hit. house liao becomes the strongest individual house. scooping up as much as a half of the republic. because we didn't destroy our military, we just hid it. (we are sneaky like that.)
