this brings up my question, both mwo and mektek have no forums (current) for mwll, and i was wondering if any one knows how to log into the multi-player as it requires a gamespy account (which i made) but gamespy has been shut down...
is there any one who still plays it who can give me a run down?

...and being driven away by all the vets hanging around using Vtol-balloonery and HGauss Shivas ...
Try and have fun while learning this massive game where a big part of the remaining community is mainly trolling the living **** out of everyone regardless of skill.
Have fun growing an armor, I gave up sometime ago after playing it straight for most of the time.

Dude, relax. It's just part of the game.
You see an enemy shiva? Take Huit Prime...simple!
Once Elf has been in Shiva for about 10 minutes, my team fielded 3 huits, and he immediatly stopped...

No. Crysis wars is NOT needed, as the all-in-one install package provided by Gouty and Haarp will install the trial version of it for you.
Get it here.
Download the torrent, run the exe, start the game, create a GS account directly in the game menu and play!
Very, very simple.
Btw, don't worry, if you have questions, feel free to ask them.

Oh, and I host a training server for it ("MWLL.SU Official Free Training Center", when you can try every vehicle), but now is not up because I'm having some personal problems in these days. It will be up as soon as I solve them...(few days I hope)

Tells me you like your ballooning because of huit prime´s inability nowadays with the UAC changes.
Plus, its very telling a team needs 3 Huits to get down one ASF ... oh you, aerial trolls.

My ballooning? Huit Prime inabilities?

Well, you saw me playing only 2 or 3 times, so it's impossible that you know how I actually play. I can understand you.

Btw, about Huit "inabilities", I killed many aero units with Huit prime. Vtols are very easy to take down, using it, and I also killed many Shivas and Visigoths...
And it doesn't cost too much...when a player of enemy team can afford a Shiva, most of the times I already can afford a Huit, and if I can't, i just ask for spares.
I prefer Anacond, btw...less range, but much better DPS.
Well, of course, the most important thing to use AA, is to have a good aim...
Oh, and don't forget that even LB-X and RAC partisans are very good AA...Oh, and don't forget also ATM missiles

The game is hard for newbies, you have to know the capabilities of many 'mechs, tanks ,VTOLs and fighters..
But that is why is good, is just the same as saying Battlefield is better than CoD but is more complicated, not just aim & shoot.
If you do not like it, or the combined-army gameplay, play what you want, but MWO is probably not so easier for total noobs.

Well, IMO the best way for a newbie to learn how to play, how to avoid and counter aeros (but also tanks, mechs, BA, and so on) is to play in TS with a vet...

This game is really complex...expecially Terrain Control mode, where teamwork is just essential, if you want to win.
This is not just "move, aim, shoot, and take cover"...for example, here, electronic equipment is much more important than you think...C3, TAG, NARC, BAP, BHP, G-ECM, A-ECM, LAMS...efficiency of these equipments is really boosted, when the team is well coordinated, and they can be really helpful for the entire team.
