Hey maybe PGI should invest in a mechassault game mode maybe they'll make a lot of money.
We could have no heat unlimited ammo, armor repair kits, respawns, all the traditional COD stuff. Maybe standing behind cover we can initiate a repair mode and then we'll be just like Hawken
Hint Hint. The game you want already exists. www.playhawken.com

Believe me I've already reached that realisation and you know what if there's money to be made developed as a seperate game mode by all means go for it PGI. Triple your team, develop mechassault online, market it, and preserve a hardcore mode.
This is what games like warthunder have done and it works. They have normal, historical, and real battle (their integrated/land/air/sea mode). Further they are adding it in so you can get items like tanks or ships rather than just planes - analogous to land units air units and maybe naval units other than mechs in MWO. If it works, fine by me - just leave me the mode I'm here to play.

This is why we can't have nice things.
This is how BF2 devolved into BF3.
This is how CoD devolved into CoD4.
This is how Tribes 2 devolved into Tribes: Vengeance.
This is how we get from here to Idiocracy.
Is the world just full of monkeys that want to press buttons and make virtual things explode on a screen? I would like to believe it is not and that people want games that require teamwork, skill, cunning, and provide a great tactical experience. I know that is the kind of gameplay experience that I want in any military themed game. The pattern would suggest I am in a shrinking minority. I am not suggesting that MWO is currently offering that BTW. But I know that what the OP describes is definitely not that.

Then tell me what is the point of even using an established IP is they aren't going to stick with it?
Honestly, there wouldn't be a game without the TT Battletech IP behind it. Battletech Fans have funded and supported this game. Robowars Online wouldn't have even been a footnote.

I bought a used copy of mechasault a while back for $2.50 at game stop Its a fun game when smashing things is all you care about.
I recommend the op buys it and leaves this game alone, I'm not against getting rid of the ,at this point laughable, time line but this game could be so much more than mechassault could ever hope to be.

You're completely right. Right now there's an overabundance of mech simulation games, while arcade shooters are nowhere to be found.
{takes an anti-schizophrenia pill}
Wait... wait... oh my...
You should take your medication too, it seems.

Funny you knock it but it had more team based **** than this COD mech edition.
It had Destruction
Team Destruction (still don't have here pathetic)
CTF
Base Defense/attack
Clan Wars (yup that was there)
Heat limitations
Alpha Strikes
Game was more solid than this may ever be. I would still play it if you could play Xbox games online anymore. Now it's just Xbox 360 games.
Only thing MA, and MA2 didn't have that I wanted 1st Person View
MWO has
... Help me out here I'm kinda lost... Bad hit detection... Stagnant maps.... Oh and TT guys.
Well while you roll the dice on your computer desk to let you know if you can shoot me or aim at the ground. I'll gladly pound your face in with my mech. I love Battletech I'm not old enough for TT but I play video games not board games. I'm the target audience not you. Sure we are both fans. But I don't have the time or the patience to see this game get bashed by any more TT guys. If you want TT go play that new browser based TT by IGP. Oh and GLHF.
And the Real Time timeline is a bad idea, and already not followed. Guardian ECM is clan tech

It seems you like games like COD, so play one of the many games out there which all looks the same.
PGI can´t just dropp all the Mechs in the game, this wouldn't work @ all, and they know that.
Your "idea" is pretty awful and wouldn´t work @ so many lvl´s.
I tell you one thing that i know for sure

You don't get what 'setting' is, right? This is not about TT. It's about inner setting complexity, rules, that define what is acceptable and what is not. We want Mechwarrior simulation based in Mechwarrior universe. Not Gundam, Evangelion, Macross, Teggen Toppa Gurenn Lagann. We want Inner Sphere, Clans, Comstar, Great Houses, lostech. We want timeline. We want minor details that together create that great setting we all love.
We want it, because it's valuable to us, we treat it like a piece of art. Yes, we are {Noble MechWarriors} (filtered f.a.n.b.o.y.s). We have passion.
And you have none.
