I was not too sure what section to put this under but being destroyed for no reason does seem like a game balance issue.

A strange thing happened today, I was enjoying a very intense game and was stalking an enemy that had really caused me much damage,I had finally got the upper hand and had him on the run and was just about to give the last few finishing blows... when my screen froze. I waited 15 seconds and it resumed but lo and behold my mech was destroyed... what is this though, the damn thing still has most of its armour and no components are destroyed?

Grrrrrrr!

I made some pretty unsavory comments so I have put a black box over them.

Happened last night to a spider as well.

I hit him with 2 ER PPCs(first shots of the game) in the front. And he just died, I asked him if it was a header and he said no. Asked him, what killed him. And he said he wasn't sure.

XL? Didn't think it was part of the damage model but it seems you lost an engine from critical hits to your right torso and the paperdoll didn't catch up

Just a paper doll anomaly ... especially in light that you say your client froze for 15 seconds ... you don't know what packets / information was dropped / ignored during that period.

Also, the message of what destroyed you is not always correct either. I have had deaths from "ammo explosion" when I didn't have ammo that could even explode (gauss) ... and other examples like that as well.

Yep, don't think you can crit engines or actuators for the legs arms, feet ect.. this has happened to me before but I didnt take a screenshot.

gauss rifle exploding counts as an ammo explosion me thinks.

When are the paper dolls going to resemble the mech you are piloting (if ever?)
