1. A short killcam. - Sometimes I have no freakin' idea what hit me. It would be nice to know, so I can learn to avoid it in the future. Sure, the post-death screen shows what happened last, but it's often covered up by a long list of destroyed internals and arm and torso destroyed messages.
2. Being able to select one of your mechs based on the map you are entering. - If anyone in their right mind had a choice, they wouldn't bring an energy boat to Terra Therma or Caustic Valley. There would be more of a reason to use all the mechs in your mech bays based to map conditions, and having multiple mechs would be much more useful. Now you pretty much use your favorite and hope for the best. A bonus: instead of people beeching and moaning about getting hot maps, they will say "Better get out my low-heat ballistic mech for this match!" instead.
Just wishful thinking and my two cents, and things I have wanted since I started playing that I think the devs could and might actually implement.

Kill cam replay would be really great.
Select a mech? PGI says its in the works. Supposedly we'll be able to ready up 4 mechs, we can do that already, and select from one of those four based off the map before we drop. PGI has also started talking about weight limits. We'll see.

Weight limits scare me. If it gets implemented wrong, we're screwed. It might make matchmaking with a group very complicated. But if they do it right, we won't have to face a whole two lances of assault mechs, or nothing but a swarm of lights either, and it will be a happy, glorious time to be a mechwarrior.

Selecting mechs on map selection... wouldn't that hamstring the weight class matching? Maybe better for a chassis config selection so the matchmaker knows your tonnage beforehand?

Good call, I didn't even think of how those two things would clash. Yes, I think allowing you to select a chasis of the same weight with a different config would fix the problem. Excellent idea.
