Confused by my anology? Well let me explain it. Say your blood pressure is high, so now you are taking some medication for it but the side effect is too much water loss, so you take a pill called an anti diuretic. But that pill now causes an upset stomach so now you take something called a proton pump inhibitor, but now it causes another side effect so you take another pill to fix that. Then say you want to 'fix' one of the problems so you stop taking one of the pills but you can't because it is a cascade of problems caused by the original fix.
How does that translate into weapons? Simple. They turned SRMS and any close range brawling weapons into pea shooters because people were QQing, then PPC's became dominant in the game, so you introduced heat fixes to them but then LRMs starting being too powerful so you put in heat fixes to those, then PPCs and Gauss combo became dominant so you increased the heat penalties and put in a delay for Gauss. Seismic sensors should be removed because how can you sneak up and do surprise attacks?
Where are we now? Everything is fubared. The fun is taken out of this game. The weapons don't follow any type of 'rock paper scissor' scenario. It has turned into one big camp fest now because brawling will get you destroyed before you get a shot off.
I would love to see(IT TRIED) that all the weapons go back where they were months ago. Bring back splat cats. Remove seismic sensors. The game was more fun trying to sneak in, under cover of long range mechs to infiltrate our brawlers or make sure we were not getting flanked by the other teams brawlers. There was more strategy and in your face action, lots more 'pew pew'.
