Voice comms are the REAL message here. Hop into teamspeak, and drop with a lance. This trumps ANY PUG scenario by huge amounts.

It's hard to type during combat, but not impossible. I've been playing since July 12 and have only been on TS since February. Before that I routinely began dropping with friends around September 12. The nice thing about dropping with friends even not on TS is that you have at least one more watching your back. Additionally, if you aren't able to type too fast, maybe one of your friends can. Another thought is that your friends can let you know before you get into trouble. The only downside to dropping with friends is that sometimes it takes a bit for them all to be ready. Pretty minor downside for all the advantages it provides.
