I was killed by flamers so they must be OP.

c'mon all you have to do is find some water and POOF the flames go out. and in frozen city, they can just melt the ice for a little bit before they go out. if someone hits your mech with a flamer then just stop, drop and roll your mech and POOF flames go away. terra therma? "ooh your flamers are so tough- wait a sec here's some molten lava- hey there's some REAL heat now!" in fact if standing in lava i hear flamers- because of their lower heat rate actually work as coolant when standing in lava as stated in ask the devs 954.22 .

there are many many other such tactics which can allow the smart players to overcome so-called overpowered flamers. maybe the OP needs to L2P before coming to the boards and complaining about these weapons.

also in competitive super high play level mode flamers are balanced but are not used because they lack the range of PPCs and gauss.

After PGI desync's them from machine guns they should be balanced.

This reminds me of a thread of a starcraft forum, before their speed was buffed, this player actually thought Overlords were overpowered.

I propose they change flamers so that, while they are being fired, your Command Console becomes effectively useless (submitting this as an alternative to the above MG/flamer build nerf. You leave mah Farbraind ALONE, yah heer meee?!?!)

I love the communities advantageous and enthusiastic feed back thank you for your post. Hopefully we can fix the root of the problem of flamers being OP.

The only thing that should be able to kill me in MWO is a 1000 ton Mega-Rex with 6 Nuclear Firebreathers on each arm.

Everything else is OP or aimbot. Except for my 6 PPCs. Those aren't OP. But why should these lights be able to kill me when I chose to use weapons that loses functionality at close range???
