as the title states, I"ve been running into probably 10 times the normal amount of ragers and troll players who verbally abuse and insult everyone in the game despite them being the problem. I feel this problem will only worsen after launch when the game is being more heavily advertised, as we all know what kinds of disrespectful people free to play games can attract. is anyone else experiencing this?

I have not. I play late evenings (after midnight EST usually). There is the occasional 'incident', but by and large people have either been respectful or at least quiet.

I see snide sarcasm from time to time (for example: "great team", "way to help out your teammates" from people who just died), but actual insults are actually fairly rare. For me, at least.*




* - or maybe I'm just missing some of the in-game conversations because I'm focusing on the actual fight.

I have indeed suffered many slings and arrows in the last week. But not from any of the battletech fans.

was just now in a game where about 16 players were spam harassing a guy and telling him to kill himself simply because he didn't understand how armor and internals worked, and then they griefed another player into actually RAGEQUITTING and uninstalling the game right then and there simply because he asked why his mech kept overheating every time he fired his LRMs all at once

completely ridiculous

Did you get those names? It goes against the TOS and policy to make threats. Reporting the people who do that would be a good thing.
Of course, they could just make another account, but it still helps.

I've seen trolling in a few games and it's not nice to hear. It often annoys me that a small percentage of players who don't have anything positive or constructive to say feel to need to spout utter {Scrap} without any consequence.

All abusive players should be shot on site - friendly fire included

The problems with abusive players will continue until they get the in game reporting tool working. Having to write down a name(s), match time, details, and email that to support is too much for most people to bother with unless the person is particularly abusive.

no I dont, where in that quoted post did I tell anyone to kill themselves? nice attempt to derail the thread by tampering with the original post though. I bet you're the exact type of person that does these things in-game as well, as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure you were one of those players in that said game and I should PROBABLY contact customer support about it

I must admit that I'm part of those rare player who do a lot of sarcasm in the game and comments, even rage sometime.
I never insult though or harass people, on contrary I'm most of the time trying to guide people in the game or try to give some strategy but also I'll comment any stupid move/action a player would make...
Something that surprises me though is that very few new players are asking help ingame using chat channel. I also doubt they're on TS/...
