I suggested that by statistical level unsuccessful mech would get a c-bill multiplier. Easier to earn more money with them. I suggested this to get more variation to mechs piloted on battlefield. This was unapproved by someone by the fact that it doesn't make any sense. Why would any mercenary get paid more by using fundamentally bad mechs. OK, he had a point, but then this idea came to me.
How about using simulated open market pricing for selling mechs. Every mech have their stock price, but price is increased or decreased with multiplier depending on how wanted it is at the moment.
When new mech is released, everyone wants to have it. Because of it being so wanted, it's price is higher. If you want to be one of those who flood battlefield with that one new hot mech, you really have to pay for it. On the other hand those mechs that won't sell, are in sale for a reason. Or when that new mech is released, price of other mechs drop. Price multipliers should be based on actual statistics. It should take account number of that mech sold and number of that particular variant sold and compare it to average number of any mechs sold.
If it is wanted to simulate real community warfare, the it should be taken to next level. Give those who like to be underdogs a bonus.

That is similar to something i wished from the very beginning.
The number of available Mechs is depending on the numbers of Mechs allready ingame.
For example:
in the pool are:
1 AS7-D
2 AS7-K
3 AWS-8Q
1 AWS-8T
2 CPLT-K2
6 CN9-A
7 JR-7D
3 COM-2S
or similar - you can't buy a Mech that is not available - the more mechs are bought by players the more Mechs are available. You want to have a Atlas - you have to place a token for a lottery and - that will give you the right to buy that Mech you wished - when it is available.

Seems kindve silly to not be able to buy the mech you want.
What if you just gave a 30% cbill/MC discount on mechs that arnt popular?

Take that a step further... what about introducing a pricing system based off of telemetry of actively used mechs.
The more popular it is, the more expensive it is. The less popular it is, the cheaper it is. Stats polled and prices adjusted every 24 hours.
It's not excessively difficult to create the algorithms necessary to automatically make these adjustments.
The hardest part would be allowing the servers to change prices in the live environment.

Its a lot of work to code that and quite frankly the game has more pressing needs. Thats why I suggested a simple 30% discount because they already have their sales set up to do that.

Hmm... Maybe this should be included in repair prices of mechs, if ever reintroduced. Mech that no one uses is cheaper to repair, as spare parts aren't hard to come by. Also salvage income from victory is higher if the other team uses alot those most common mechs.
