a picture-in-picture long range zoom with 4x magnification is vague

5000GXP+2000000 C-Bills = to vague 4x magnification???

3X magnification is good Don't need the money does not need GXP

4X magnification is it right? Need to modify.

The Advanced Zoom module is currently broken due to limitations on CryEngine.

Currently it just zooms in on your base resolution view, this causes it to become all distorted. PGI has yet to fix it or remove it from the game. Basically, it's a money trap.

currently broken? No, it was broken when they introduced it into the game. It never worked, they have acknowledged it several times, and yet have not done anything about it.

Advanced zoom looks like this right now:

If that looks helpful to you, get it. But if you're undecided, I highly recommend against it. The view window, as you can see, is highly pixelated and thus it tends to make aiming harder. In addition, the IFF triangles and brackets around each player are currently bugged when in advanced zoom.

It's junk, but low-priority. Making it re-render the scene in a pip is an engine limitation and a fullscreen non-pip is probably "too good" or else they would have made it a simple fullscreen zoom like the default...

Though it would the best and easiest way to go. If concerns were the module is "too good" increase its cost to 4 to 6 million C-Bills (although, existing owners would have to be grandfathered in).

It turns your AAA game graphics into a low quality JPEG.

Yeah - not a big priority, with gold launch looming. I'm not sure why they went for a PIP view: just make a "fully zoomed" screen, "sniper view" rather than trying to integrate it into existing view. CryEngine just can't do it, from what I understand.

My guess is that they were trying to give the module another advantage, that is, peripheral vision, by making it PiP. Obviously, the sole advantage is outweighed by the incredible lack of quality.

Yeah, it -should- be a useful module when it functions properly, getting the full peripheral vision and zoom. My other hope is that it will be like the MW3 one, where it's smaller and moves with the targeting reticle. Well, we'll see how long that takes, I suppose
