I normally got FREAD errors when there's a corruption in one of the game libraries. Give the repair tool a try if it persists:

Edit: Crying about a Camera Angle. Yep, a camera angle that noone uses. Wow. If people would be so passionate with other things the world would be a much better place, but no, we have to cry about a camera angle and players being "forced to play with 3PV".
wow.
Yeah, a Camera Angle that lets me see the entirety of the battlefield in a scout with 5040x1080 offering an unsurpassed tactical advantage for anything other than mindless pugging, which makes the 6M CB Seismic Sensor seem like total irrelevance? Which I can toggle on and off?
Yeah. That one.

Please. The same camera angle that anyone else in the game can use, including your opponents. While at the same time, prevents your ability to receive information concerning enemy placement and friendly status and locks your arm actuators to so your arm-mounted weapons can't use their full arch. Oh, and also puts a little drone with a flashy light right above your head so your opponent is well aware of your presense.
I could do the same thing with my Raven 3L. I can find a nice little hiding spot, report on your movements, and you had no idea I was there.
I know 3PV is the hot-button topic of the day, but let's not pretend that it's done a damn thing to change the game balance.

Don't play any competitive clan based 12v12's do you. It's not about target locks or shooting or the mini-map, it's about INFORMATION.
We've given up for now and have dropped out of tourneys due to the 3PV reducing it to MechAssault, coupled with HSR and Ghost heat.

If I recall correctly, they said that they "will probably add it in", but they are want to give it a few weeks to see how things go with the current setup.
Honestly, I very much hope that they put the 1pv only mode in.
The cheap skilless pilots are all ready, using it to scan over crests, of mountains and buildings as its a feature of the game I can't say cheap cheats though I think it very loudly.
by seeing how things go they mean by how much revenue will they lose and how many stop playing..
so don't expect a 1pv game unless it hurts them and then maybe community warfare ..might. have it..but words are about as usefull as a catflap in an elephant house around here

You are correct, however. I don't play clan matches (my college gaming days are long over). But if your clan team is completely undone by a feature that everyone in the game shares (which you too can use to your advantage), then my gut instinct calls into question your clan's ability to respond as a team.
But like you say, I don't play clan matches. So what am I talking about, right?

Surprised to see there's no content patch today, but then, I don't recall a Creative Director's update this month, so what do I know.
Seriously.
Either let it go or go away.

You're so close to getting it. If it confers an advantage...and everyone can do it...then anyone who wants to win has an incentive to do it, which fundamentally changes the way the game is played in a manner that runs counter to what PGI long maintained the game was going to be. You can disagree that it confers an advantage or you can say you don't care if the super-competitive feel pressured to use it, but "it doesn't change the balance because everyone can do it" is a response to an argument no one is making.

Its a feature that everyone CAN use, but the people that want to use skill, as opposed to cheap easy trickery DON'T

I personally don't use 3PV, and never will, and I love when my opponents do so I can see them when they are over the ridge and I don't have a seismic equipped.

Right, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. If I am forced to use this POS "feature" though I never wanted it, and I never wanted to play the game like this because it sours MY fun and way of playing, I will never stop the QQ!

I know the release is 3 weeks out. But it's still Beta. They're still actively tweaking. Disbanding your clan and having players threaten to quit at this point is just silly. I'm sorry and a little saddened that this simple little feature (which they worked nicely into the universe, I must say) ruined the whole game for you. I still have a freaking blast with it.

You have FAR more optimism than I do, and I'm a glass half-full kind of guy.
Maybe they will have a laundry list on Thursday of things they are pushing to the Test server. That would be nice to see.
Just slapping a shiny new UI on this and playing for mystical Loyalty points that don't do anything won't make it a better game though.
Ï spent many, many years being involved with the internal advisory team of an MMO I played. All the rage and fury over game design decisions left me then. Now, I'm just so mellow and don't really care I am of the opinion that things will work out in the end. If it takes a year or so... well, I don't care!

Not having a minimap is HUGE in a game as tactical as this one. Having a literal flashing red light screaming "shoot me!" to the world isn't exactly what I consider an advantage. Maybe I'm weird?
I'm thinking the majority of the people who are sobbing rivers over 3pv either don't play or haven't played since the patch, because the whopping three people I've seen using it weren't exactly blowing away everyone else in the match.
Can we get back on topic now? Thanks.

I'm reaching a point of 'no confidence' in this game because of how its being handled. Prefect example of how I'm thinking. The Phoenix sale ends, we get out mechs and a week later the game folds. PGI delivered the goods, PGI IGP gets the money and we're left with nothing.
Maybe we should start referring to PGI and IGP as PIG.
