I'm switching back and forth between 2Gauss/PPC and 3ML/3LBX on my new Murdermetz. So far I do about equally well with both setups. Convergence on the arms is off 50% of the time so I don't really get it's full potential when sniping (so maybe it doesn't do the dual Gauss justice), and it's so much more squishy than a STK or HGN, but the 12 nigh-heatless dps from the LBX alone pretty much guarantee I won't lose a 1-on-1, ever.

Personally, I feel that the LBX is finally in a decent place, at least on those setups that can't use AC/20 effectively.

I'm using one on my Hunchback 4H. Works better now because your spread can all target one component if you are within about 50m. Good as a weapon useful for ripping apart already damaged Mechs.

I haven't tried it yet but I am exited that the cone of fire is smaller. This might make the LBX worth it.

I think it is. I have switched my HBK 4G to it, along with upping to the 275 engine. I wont say its better than the AC20, but I find it viable and effective. I have been scoring about the same, a positive K/D with a positive win percentage on PUG games, which is all I play. I think I may change my Ilya to a double LBX build.

It's better, but it's still not quite there imho. Either a crit damage multiplier for better internals damage or a slight cooldown reduction to 2 seconds to account for the spread. (it's feels pretty close to how it should though)

I have been enjoying it on my D-DC, running 2x LBX and 3x Streak 2's. Finally having lights run AWAY from me rather than TOWARD me.

Gave it a whirl on my CTF-3D earlier, I like it. Feels like Artemis SRMs feel on my HBK-4SP. Can land most, if not all, of the pellets on a single target at longer ranges, and at close ranges it's not hard to get them all on one or two sections. Feels better, I think. Still experimenting, might even try dropping my engine rating down to squeeze two of them in (was using a STD300, but with four ML, some heat sinks, ammo, armor, jump jets, there goes 70 tons). It's certainly better than before, I think.

just wish it had the same reload sound of the normal AC/10...But that's just personal taste. xD Man I love that sound.

always loved my double barrel shotgun Jäger-S, now love it even more! My most played mech. 2 LBX are so much fun. Enemies get hit by it and don't except to be hit again very very early (all the high alpha bulds that have to wait over 4 secs so all their weapons are ready for the next alpha get surprised very well)

Well than, looks like i may have to try it out in my HBK-4H. Always wanted this weapon to be viable cause it sounds and looks so cool.

If it was to get a ROF buff to 2 seconds I'd use it all the time.

Then there is going to be crying, just like there was with MGs. Then cometh the nerf.

Got my first ever 7 kill game just using my jagermech with two LBX10's and 3 Medium pulse lasers.

They are working really well now at short ranges.

I wish you were wrong, Sephlock, but well, I didn't expect PGI to nerf machine guns. And yet, here we are. >_>

Nice to see LBX-10 finally works. On the other hand, its disturbing to see making only 130k with that much damage and 7 kills.

We need proper convergence mechanics to make the LB-X compete against pinpoint weapons. It is less terribad, but remains inferior to the AC10, which is not the best weapon around according to many.

First they came for the SRMs
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't an SRM user.
Then they came for the LRMs,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't an LRM user..
Then they came for the SSRMs,
and I didn't speak out because I pilot lights.
Then they came for machineguns,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

"Hello, my name is Hillslam, and I run an LBX Atlas."

The lbx was fine before and is awesome now. I have been running it on my atlas in a 2x LBX10 + 3SRM6 +2ML config, or on my founder atlas in 2xLBX10 + 2SRM6 +4ML config and I absolutely WRECK any mech I come across.

Its all about timing and when you step into the fray. Let the sniping fest early on peeter out. Once the distances close unleash hell.

HGNs, STKs, AWEs, VTRs, nothing stands to it. When I see one of these I just turn toward them, press forward ,and begin the chain fire spam. It is the ultimate symphony of destruction. Nothing beats a stalker trying to turn and get away, in their slow-mo pathetic way (knowing all the while the pilot is panicking inside - they're not used to being face-wrecked, and getting reminded is jarring for them) or an HGN trying to jump out of the hailstorm of death (for pilot reaction see above stalker scenario).

I regularly have matches where I do over 900 damage it in. My best to date is like 1300 damage, 8 kills, 3 assists and >3k experience. I've gone thru 2 stalkers and a catapult right in a row (again, press forward and press the "make it go boom" trigger and just hold both, laughing maniacally). Gone thru an HGN a stalker and another HGN. Awesome Awesome Victor. Victor Stalker Victor. Victor HGN HGN. And so on. Pick your triple play of assault mechs, whatevs, annnnd they're going down. Gawd its so bad that when I see 3 assaults lined up like that I dang near get a chubby.

I almost feel bad posting my "secret". As its so good it almost feels like cheating. But its cathartic. Absolves me of sin.

"Hello, my name is Hillslam, and I run an LBX Atlas."
"Hello Hillslam."

LB10X has always been good, in my eyes... I've been running a dual LBX 'phract for a very long time, have never really had trouble getting kills with it. That, and I absolutely MURDER light mechs with my 2x LBX, 4MG, 2 ML Jager Double D.

That being said, the range increase to the LBX has buffed it considerably. Late-game, when most of the enemy team is damaged, it should be a war crime to have a good double LBX 3D or Jager on your side.

I went back to the "Double Barrel" K2 last night (2LBX, 4MLasers). It is better than it has been in the past. Before, the Dual A/C10 won out (but I had to sacrifice speed). Now I think I like the LBX10 better. My speed is back up and the damage is a bit better. I think I will keep the LBXs if a while.

P.S. Tried 3 LBXs on an Illya, but put it back to 3 Ultras. 2 LBXs with good backup energy weapons seems like the sweet spot.
