That's right. Heaps of people with multiple founders accounts just trolling here. *sheesh*.

You see a member with 20 posts or so say something bad, and it happens every so often you also see the same group of people posting and liking each others posts.

Wait wont that make him a minority?
Oh wait he must be one of those rare silent majorities.
Listen to him guys ,he must be right about these things.

exactly! didnt you know that no feedback is positive feedback? and since there is an absense of actual feedback from the silent majority of players PGI can just make the opinions of the silent majority to be the opinions of PGI and violla! PGI is always right because people who feel their feedback is unwanted and unused, or simply dont like posting on forums, must certainly think exactly as pgi does( thsi is fact and cannot possibly be refuted).

If pgi sent out a survey to 1000 people asking if they hated mwo, then only 50 replied, and 48 were to say they hated it and 2 said they do not. They would simply state 952 people love their game because 2 people said they did and they spoke for the other 950 people who didnt take the time to respond at all. so the majority of players who provide feedback are actually the minority since giant assumptions and falsehoods can be stated as fact about the people who either dont think their feedback will be heard/used or simply dont care to use them forums or social media. Dont you see the flawless logic in ignoring actual feedback in order to completely lie about feedback that was never recieved??????

/sarcasm over

Guys, sorry to break this to you:

I'm in command of nearly 50 MechWarriors as an officer of the clan I am in: Phoenix Dominion. And none of us are happy about 3PV. There is a very clear sense of despair every time we meet for practice. None of us want to play the game, people are showing up as part of some weird formality.

If you think this is just a "vocal minority" you're insane. Thanks for my Project Phoenix refund, by the way. I wont be giving you any money ever again. Regardless of any changes you make to the game that I like. You've broken my trust as a consumer, and I wont fall for the same trick twice. Just as the old saying goes: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Your fifty pilots, proportionately speaking, aren't even a drop in the bucket (numbers wise). That is not the same thing as saying that your opinion is irrelevant (which it isn't), but using personal examples and trying to extrapolate how a small group feels to be emblematic of the whole is a bit of a reach.

None of our pilots like 3PV either, but in all the organized/tournament 12v12 stuff that we do, I can quite honestly state that I can count on one hand the number of times anybody has used 3PV.

If anyone was around for the so called Combat Upgrade in Star Wars Galaxies, then you can see how PGI is channeling Sony Online Entertainment.

And PGI and the white knights will blame us if/when things crash and burn. The word is hubris.

...and while "we barely see anyone using it consistently" there are tons of whining on the forums.

If you read their remarks on the 3pv design, you should know that it was designed not to give any advantages over 1pv. Thats why we barely see it and thats why it is success.

Not give any? It does give plenty of advantages if you know what you are doing. And few using it equals being successful? Oh well, guess I am not bright enough to understand something this deep.

I think I can help here - many players simply didn't know you could do this (or more specifically, 8 mins average a round, doesn't mean every match will be 8 minutes for all players. So if you DO die, you CAN leave a match before it's ended. But no worries, we have checks for C-Bill farming :))

"People have provided amazing suggestions in the past, are still doing so, and will ALWAYS do so. Problem is, the PGI staff never listen"

I also wanted to respond to this, as this is outright false. Hunchback increased engine size, quicker torso turning for Mediums, more up/down movement for Cicadas, decreased LB10X spread, etc, just in the last patch ALONE, was all suggested by players, and I forwarded it.

We're at the point where literally hundreds of tweaks and changes and additions have been suggested by players and put into the game.

So please, keep posting suggestions, I'm here to forward them :)

Can you please forward the stuff about how 3PV is almost unanimously hated?

Out of likes ("Can't have the community confirming how much they agree with/support each other"), so 'Like'. And amen bro. Hearing this from so many units. But we're not the target demo, so...<sigh>

You know, I was just going to write off the founders purchase when this inevitably fails as a lesson learned but now given the complete lack of respect the community continues to get I think I'm going to make that little extra effort to make sure my money is reclaimed. Consider it my decision to join the silent majority who loves the excellent and flawless direction this is all going in.

Yes. It's called agreeing with each other. I find myself reading a post, agreeing, liking, and then going "Oh. It's from so-and-so. No wonder". If you're saying groups of people purposefully go and like each other's posts to circle-jerk/echo-chamber, by all means, show your proof.

I wasn't going to reply to this topic because of all the negativity, but I will anyway. :) Glad to see an update on what's on the way for MechWarrior, and looking forward to playing when its out of beta.

This is one of like only six? Maybe? Positive posts I've read. Amongst how many negative? Yay for that target demographic huh PGI? Oh wait, throw IGP in there too since we were just told that they're a part of all this ******** too.

The last AtD was more informative than this update... and it is also disappointing to hear that we won't see any new info until this time next month.

Just how exactly can you tell that with only one week of it being out? I would also like to see the metrics of player loss due to it. Not saying its a huge amount, but still, I would like to see how the two balance.

Honestly this just sounds like a statement aimed to validate the reasoning behind adding it in in the first place.

The target demographic has improved, that doesn't mean that there are more players. Maybe their target demographic now contains of less hardcore battletech fans that are not worth to keep anyway, and more Call of Duty fans, or whatever.

I dunno about the new player retention. If they can judge it after one week, maybe it means player retention has usually been lower than a week?

But that is the thing, If you pop over to the feedback forum you will see plenty of evidence including video evidence which shows otherwise. Get your head out of the sand.

All the so-called "evidence" is several screenshots and videos, which was clearly specially made to "prove" 3pv is OP.

The only evidence I believe in is my own eyes, and my eyes tell me that in 100% of games I played since 3pv was introduced nobody (except several noob cases) used it.

Everybody who plays this game should admit it. But you guys prefer to whine in 10k+ posts on the forum - this is your favorite game, not MWO.

....

...if this is our creative update for September, I guess there isn't much left.

I honestly hope this game dies and gets chewed out and fed to the wolves.

Not because I hate the game, but because I really want someone else to pick it up and try again.

inb4 Community warfare is a point stat map with how many wins and loses for a certain faction for a planet on random limited maps with the same matchmaking.

Cheers to release day. :)

:Provide evidence that something is OP and is used as a wallhack:

"Yeah you just made that to show that it is OP. I personally haven't seen it so apparently no one does it"

Oh sweet jesus. People like you reward PGI for their terrible behavior and ignorance in the face of reality.

Oh absolutely. It basically just means you can't extrapolate much usable data from complaints (or compliments) on the forum.

One thing to consider is that forums are not the support hotline. People on the support hotline usually have always to do with disgruntled customers.

Forums are also a social tool. People go there to socialize with other fans. They ask questions. They collect information on the game and write tutorials. They share ideas and builds.
And most importantly perhaps, people on the forums are invested in the game and are prone to communicating with others about the game. That means they are your "word of mouth" part of marketing. If that isn't going so well for you, maybe you actually have a problem, even if only 1 % of your players even bother to talk on the forums? Because the other 99 % obviously don't talk much about the game with anyone, they will never bring in additional players. And if they are disgruntled, maybe they just leave silently, too.

Because that's how it is. The vocal segment of any demographic is usually the minority. FAR more people won't say anything. Tons of people play and never visit these forum. Or they visit but don't post.

The term "majority" implies that this group has a common stand toward certain topics. However this cannot be said since they simply don't say anything.

If you just follow the rules of statistic, then you know that the forum definitely represents the average MWO player community. Interpreting the "vocal minority" the way PGI does it would render any opinion survey useless.
