So... By 'keeping change announcements closer to the chest' you REALLY mean "You'll know about them when we add them, then forget to mention it in the Patch Notes" - OR - "You'll know about them three days before we implement them, but we'll leave some key bits out of the actual implementation because of a short term analytic's we did about why we shouldn't have promised that in the first place"

Another words, TL:DR style...

"We're doing what we're doing - play the game, give us money, and we'll ignore you 'vocal minority' and listen to the SILENT majority.... that isn't giving any insight... at all... silence is golden."

New poll (yeah, I know - hilarious right!) by Bryan.

Should 12v12's be 1PV only. Take a wild fecking guess what the result will be PGI. As if you actually had to ask?

Anyways - it's here: http://mwomercs.com/...es-to-1pv-only/

BTW guys... if the playercount is steadily rising and at an all time high...

Why where they so reluctant to "split" the community?

Warthunder sure as hell wasnt afraid to split the community by providing PvE, an arcade mode AND a historical mode with what i guess pgi would assume are "hardcore" rules. (limited fuel and ammo, you have to land to refuel your plane, you have to actually start from the runway to take off at the beginning of the match etc)

So if we have sooooooo many players... wheres the problem?

Could it be that we actually dont have that many players and this is just the captain of the titanic saying that everything is fine?

SuuuhhhhSPPPIIIIccciiioooouuuuusssss!

""If players so wish, they can even increase C-Bill earnings substantially by exiting matches if they are destroyed early, and jumping into a new one.

For example:

If your Mech is destroyed to a roaming band of Jenners early on, you can jump out of that match and into a new one right away – potentially doubling your C-Bills to 1.2 million per hour! This cuts down your time to purchase new Mechs and equipment.""

Really?? LOL! So now its cool to "farm C-bills and screw over your team mates?" Winning! So I pretty much don't even have to fight at all any more. I can just farm my way to new mechs & gear without ever shooting anything! Brilliant!!

I'm resigned to this game's likely demise.

It's not our problem cause... "no MWO for hardcore gamers". We'll wait another 10 years.

My hope is only that... just a plea, and frankly easily ignorable like every other feedback post.

Take it easy. :)

The problem with the 3pv feedback thread is all you see is whining. With little or no true feedback.

Funny. Was that before the WALLS of

~Seperate the Que's

~Make it a consumable that costs money and can be destroyed.

~Make it first 25 matches only

~Make it only training grounds.

They ignored all of it and went with "It's fine, we see no significant advantage and it's a great success"

Please remove the blinders.

And

Hard to give feedback when you know the real issue is that they will have 'miscommunication' whenever they feel like it. How do you give feedback on something that wasn't supposed to be implemented in the first place?

Our feedback -has- been posted many, many, many times. Remove 3PV. Don't force players to play with 3PV. Don't make 3PV offer any advantages. Restrict 3PV to the Training Grounds. However, apparently you don't consider those feedback because they aren't what you want to hear, nor what the Devs want to hear.

Plus there was my two c-bills worth of using mech 16 the Flea and 19 the Orion as example of MWO's simulation concepts that were sold to community and fallen to the waste side. please check out mech 16 & 19 then read the examples.

1st: The flea a light mech that is nipping away at assaults right at their feet, but could not be seen and targeted. it read well, but can no longer be reproduced and the epic thinking player shooter is subdued( not destroyed but altered significantly)

2nd Collision, knockdowns and possible melee features lend a heavy advantages to 3pv over 1pv. If the assault has a light at its feet or anywhere that in cockpit view would be obscure, now would just simply run it over and alpha it. Knockdown builds could eliminate the need to switch back to 1pv at all(just remember the dragons knocking over even atlas)

3rd mech 19 Tell's a story of a thinking pilot(situation awareness, use of terrain, teamwork and etc). sure you could stay in 1pv and have some of that, but you would be just handicapping yourself and team.

4th As it stands now it seems 3pv will do little for new players, don't see them supporting with money with game as it looks to be at launch. Then taking existing paying players and pushing them into casual non paying category.

5th Why at 4 weeks out from launch change the plan and not have core play in play. Dropping and killing stompy robots while in one is fun, but how far can it get you in terms of revenue and player base? 3pv should have come down the road and even if in console port was part of it, would have been fine with separation from normal & simulation mode (3pv = arcade, 1pv = normal and let hardcore be the put up or shut up mode competitive players want)

6th Where's our lobby, only reason I even came to the forums these last few weeks was to find some people to drop with and ended up doubling my post due this last patch. If we had a lobby and a functional in game chat system we would have a thriving community helping new players out and cultivating MWO. Instead of all of us stuck on islands hurling messages in a bottle and waiting for something to happen. Will end here my stick broke and this dead horse will have to wait till next Denial thread.

Happy hunting All

I know im going to regret this but with this video you can listen to me drone on for over seven minutes as my air conditioner provides the ambiance of a XL300. Topic mainly revolves around the hostility of the internet, these forums and PGI.

Going to echo specifically Talrich and others here, but you're driving us away with delusional posts like this.

After this week's events, my community is seriously considering further involvement in the game. We take with us a large supportive playerbase with money to spend.

But it really seems you don't want that.

Thank you for letting me know I wasn't the demographic you were looking for as a customer. I could have sworn I was but I guess not anymore. I guess I will have to give my money to someone who thinks I am in their demographic.

Quick advice for PGI/IGP (no harsh tone here, just trying to help):
  • Community Warfare will most likely make or break this game for a huge number of players, and we know very little about it. Be prepared for the aftermath if it's not 100% awesome.
  • Tell us more without giving information away (see examples below...)
    • "We're working on X number of new game modes. At least one of the ideas came from the community, but we're not releasing details until launch."
  • That reminds me: More game modes (including modes with asymmetric mission goals).
  • People with real money will buy stuff with real money. People without real money will not. These two facts are not generally influenced by in-game economics. If they ARE influenced, the person without money making a real money purchase will be frustrated because he/she felt they had to do it to better enjoy the game.
  • Lastly, you will never get rid of haters. Just ignore them and keep trying to make the best game you can. Many of us love you for it.

We don't need to know who you have "in your can," this isn't a romance novel.

Well played, PGI. After all the bitterness and discontent sewn by 3PV and Bryan's horribly worded announcement, you throw candy at the kids to divert attention from it. Well played. 3PV still sucks, your reasoning for creating it is horrible, the time and resources diverted to create it instead of making other fixes or other content is **** poor judgment, and alienating your player base as well as telling the paying player base they are not part of your target demographic was beyond idiotic. I will still buy the Sabre package because I still enjoy playing the game but doing other unpopular things like creating 3PV will make me vote with my wallet. Total War: Rome II is being released soon and I can easily shelf this game and not spend anymore money on it again. I have been playing this game for about a year which is longer than most games I play, with the exception of Total War series, so if you still want me to be a customer please make better choices.

Unless you're running the Champion mechs... 90%+ of ANY stock variant in this game are completely ill-equipped to compete with customized mechs, even while when the players are equally skilled. There is no way around this simple fact. You are already at a disadvantage... you might as well be just sticking with the stock pistol in Counterstrike or the crowbar in Half-Life and have a better a "slightly better chance of survival" than you would in MWO.

^_^
<_<
You leave crowbar out of this.

Total War is in 3rd Person view only. And its really zoomed out. You will hate it.

Last night I posted "Tired of being lied to. Tired of PGI thinking we're too stupid to notice."

It was moderated/deleted/whatever. It used to be post #505. I know this because I hit refresh just now to see the new posts in the thread and when it reloaded my post was gone.

Did I attack someone? Is that post insulting? Maybe PGI should delete all their posts for being insulting to our intelligence.

I WILL be getting a refund for my Phoenix Overloard pre-purchase. Someone want to point me where to do that?

You can deduct $80 from my sig below.

You have made an enemy PGI

September Creative Developer Update

What an August! We released some really big features in 12v12 and 3PV: Both have been a great success and delivered on our goals of adding more action, tactics, and deeper gameplay (12v12), while continuing to make the game appeal to a broader audience of gamers (3PV). After releasing 3PV we saw an immediate improvement in our target demographic, with a good bump in new player retention!

Since 3pv has come in I have only played for a day as I am tired of so many people disconnecting from matches once they see someone using 3pv.
I don't know how Bryan can state the new implementation has been a great success when there are so many other sites watching what is going on with the MWO community and reporting to their readers that we are one step away from revolt.
The game may now be more appealing to others but at the same time the player base they had to begin with is rapidly eroding.

3pv was put into the game to make things easier for newbs to learn how to torso twist while moving backwards and forwards.
I don't understand why this wasn't confined to the training grounds. Surely some time using 3pv in there is more than adequate to learn how to handle a Mech.

I personally am very disappointed in 3pv but am hesitant to request a refund for the Phoenix pack. I may yet apply for the refund however as the chaos 3pv has caused isn't lending me any desire to log in and play anymore.
