I said a few months ago that an alive forum meant an healthy game, well now it seems the game is getting sick. Not in terminal stage yet, but if nothing is done to reconcile PGI with its community, not even launch will save MWO.

The forum's a wasteland of angry, friendless 20-year-olds and angry, fuzzy-moustache TRON Guys. In-game, the community is one of the most positive, best behaved I've ever come across.

So who'd go out of his way to come here?

Stupidity, son. We come here because we're stupid, not because we're brave. Also, to hell with low blood pressure.

yeah, I had a hard time figuring where I should have put this thread.

I guess a general discussion board would have done the trick...

On the other side of my comment, there's not always a good place for this sort of thing, since we don't -have- a real "general discussion" board outside of off-topic, and this is... on a MW topic, just not balance. It's a bit of a pain in the hind end. I don't agree or disagree with what you're saying, I just don't know where it's best to put it. ^^;

500 users online. 1500 guests.

oh yeah, it's "Dying" all right.

Maybe people are just finding less to complain about :)

if that's the case, I'm glad to be mistaken then. I'd be interested in knowing the numbers of forum goers around january/february/march when things seemed to be at their peak.

500 people online is what we had back in Spring of 2012 when we only had 90,000 registered forum users. Don't believe me? Here are the numbers:

I made that thread at the end of June, and while things have upticked recently with overall traffic, the page views per user and time spent on site still leave much to be desired now

The reality is this forum used to be hoppin with ~2000 registered users online per night. My friends list is currently a ghost town. Most people I used to associate with when the game was in its infancy are nowhere to be found. Forum traffic has decreased, though I attribute that more to splitting up the forums rather than the game itself. However facts are facts

well, thank you for providing the info, I guess my gut feeling wasn't so off track after all. Same about my friends list... it's completely empty save for my brother whom I play with from time to time. There's about 20 names in there that are red... all the time.

Same here. It's depressing really. I'm not going to be among those saying they are pulling their support and money for the game, because I want this game to succeed because it is still my all time favorite franchise.

Still...2013 has been a rough year compared to where we were.

Looks to me from those graphs like the average number now is higher than it was in 2012. Not as high as the big spike at the start and first half of 2013, but still higher. When you factor in the summer holidays it looks pretty good to me :)
