I read somewhere that this was "hour game-time = hour IRL". So I would expect day and night to shift in game.

This makes me think... I know and have used rules in TT for extended games... I think when they went past 15 turns, fatigue started setting in so there were +1 for pilot rolls and +1 for anything to hit... (I didn't undestand why after 15 turns if a turn was supposed to be around 10 seconds...) But needless to say, I wonder if a fatigue type thing could be worked into MWO?

Granted matches are supposed to last 15, but I think that could also make for more interesting play when weapons become more inaccurate due to your pilot's fatigue (which opens up another skill XP training option too) This could ALSO really help make the match less of a snipe match and really encouarge mechs to start to get in close after maybe 10 minutes and finish the match. I mean the effects couldn't be too drastic, obviously, to the point where sniping is no longer viable so anything with an ac/20 that lasts into this fatigued setting is going to win. But I think could help with gameplay and camping possibly.

Also a day and shift in night might not be the same because we're not necessarily on earth. So the day night thing may shift at a regular rate but that rate would change based on what planet we're on.

Didn't the skylines change in MW2? As a mission progressed, the planet's light would dim or brighten depending on time of day. Many simulators do this as well.

Random weather changes?!

Would love to see it. That being said, rain and snow tend to be a burden on system/graphic processing, so it would have to be done carefully.

Fog would be great and would make scout mechs even more valuable.

You're right. It should be able to be dimmed down at the very least but not the point where if you have it minimal, it doesn't make your view range better. If its snowing heavily then if your computer can't handle that your view should still reflect that. I don't think thats too diffcult. But just as important, your windshield should really show it! Adds to the immersion for sure.

And of course, the wind shield wipers on my cockpit would work perfectly except for one worn out spot that leaves a streak directly at eye level. How do wiper makers manage that trick?

Hahaha. I say the same thing about flying rocks / debris that have cracked my windsheild as well! While on the topic, I wonder if they mentioned cockpits glass can be cracked... or at the very least, I'd hope if I were piloting a raven at top speed there were bug splatter effects... :D
