It may look like one hit but its not its 2 ppc's mounted in the same place with a gauss round added.

That said you should be able to take more than 2 alphas are you sure your armours maxed?

It is not just the Awesome. A few night back I was up on a hill sniping with dual PPCs when suddenly out of nowhere I took a CT hit that totally cored me from pristine armor to nothing. I think my CT has like 95 armor on it, not including the internal HP value. I don't think there is one build in the game than can generate more than 60 pin point damage in a single alpha (6 PPC build) so being cored in one shot should be impossible. Only other possibility was like 3-4 enemy firing at me exactly simultaneously with zero delay. However the ironic part, I saw zero blue PPC beams or any other indication of something fired at me prior to being cored. Gauss rounds are the only thing that isn't always visible in flight but that means I would have had to been hit by what....7-8 gauss rounds simultaneously? Yeah right, not very likely.

Opps, almost forgot. There is a bug where your mech is taking fire but you see zero indications of it happening, i.e. no incoming fire from anywhere, no red hit indicators, no changes in your armor, etc. Then all of a sudden, you mech just starts falling apart around you like 10 mechs were all firing at you simultaneously and you die. I think it might be that the server gets out of sync for a bit and then after a delay, it tries to "catch up" with everything that happened while it was out of sync and KABOOM!! This is possibly what happened to both you and me.

Sometimes hitbox bugs cause hits to the front torso armor to register on the back - did you check your damage readout after you died?

I think this may be a bug in general, I have had instances where no damage is registered on my mech, as Viktor addressed earlier, and all of sudden I turn red. I have also occasionally seen my mech take front damage to the back, or one of my arms randomly exploding without actually taking any damage at all (usually occurs when using a LBX10).

Once you lose the outer outline on the diagram (the armor) the engine can start taking critical hits and can be destroyed while the internal structure is still yellow/orange. That might not be any help here, not sure though.
