The only thing that may be reset are your statistics (win/loss, kill/death) and even then this may not happen. However nothing else will be reset - if all goes to plan.

Honestly, who knows if they will reset.

The game itself has been out of Beta for years. There is an open paying cash shop that has been going since the beginning...

Whether they choose to accept your money in exchange for a product or not has absolutely nothing to do with a game's beta status. It is in beta status because the developer has determined it is not yet fully representative of their vision for it.

How long it will be down for the changeover is anybody's guess.

Ever even read the EULA?

Yes it has a cash-shop - but if you bothered to read your end of the agreement (End User Licence Agreement remember?) I openly and repeatedly states that every cash exchange is considered a pre-order.
The game is (for now) still Beta.

Note: I am not trying to defend PGI, but there is such a thing as Legal Facts.
IE, try to get them in trouble as if the game ISN'T in beta and YOU are the one that is going to get in trouble until the day they both remove the beta tag AND change the EULA. (which, by the way, does count as a legally binding contract)

Edit: be grateful the EULA is about as harmless as they get - PGI could really make a bundle suing some of the userbase (based on the reactions of several people in the forums - not you though) if their EULA was only a word or two different.

"Closed?" What do you mean? In closed Beta? It's not in closed Beta. It's been in Open Beta since Oct.
