Hello all,

I would have put this in the tech support, but there wasn't a spot I saw to put this.

i'm trying to start up the game, and every time I do, I get the logo on my desktop then....nothing. It just stays there.

The task manager says its not responding. I'm not sure what the problem is, no error messages. it just locks up before launching the actual client.

For starters, run the shortcut "as administrator" which you can do by right-clicking on it, or by modifying the shortcut.

Second, you need to ensure you have direct x 9c, .net framework, etc.

Try installing the following:
DirectX http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35
Visual C++ http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=5555
.NET http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=22

Users have also noted that combining an AMD processor with Avast! causes the game to be unresponsive.

{Scrap}. I have an AMD a10-5800k proc. and avast as my av.

do we know of any work-arounds for this?

Edit: Oh and everything else looks good. The shortcut is asking for admin privileges by default, all my directx, .net and c++ stuff is up to date.

Uninstall Avast... some report that after MWO works they can reinstall it.

PGI is working on the problem.

Ok, just tried to un-install avast. Ran it w/out any av, still didn't help.

Any other ideas how I might get this game to run?

Edit:

Oh, I got an error! Error: AppHangB1. Not sure what it means, but when I click on the more details button thats the error in the op line.

woo! ok, that worked. Crashed twice, and took about 3 hours to re-download everything. but it works now!

thanks all.

Edit: Ok, well, it did work. now its crashing when I start it up. the patcher is running, but it says something like 'mechwarrior online has crashed'.

2nd Edit: turns out I can copy and paste the information from the little window. So heres the text from the crash window when I click on the more details button.
