Poor show PGI. You are devaluing Phoenix before it is even delivered. Not quite so unique a deal. I already felt that Founders have a raw deal with Hero mechs getting bigger bonuses.

Well, just no...

Got every package so far (at their maximum levels too), but more than a bunch of Mechs sitting in my Mechbays I want a game that is deep enough, were I will want to use them. So far, I have been spending in faith that we would eventually get there. I believe no more.

I'm going to hold off on further purchases until the state of the game significantly improves and I feel I can trust the direction PGI has in mind for the game. I can't do that right now.

Still, the mechs look awesome. I'm excited for the Wolverine, I just hope their scale is good.

You are of course kidding. That Griffin cockpit will be great to pilot in, superb.

You obviously didn't read my post close enough. I said the Wolverine's cockpit looked HIDEOUS and the Griffin looked AMAZING. I stand by that statement.

So they added two more mechs.

Wonder what will happen with the Marauder and Warhammer.

Maybe they'll be released on Launch?

I still had a hard time seeing the real advantage.....it seems like a lot of the time the stuff you could see on the other side of the hill would have been still possible to see from within the cockpit. I could be wrong though, it might have been better to flip back into 1pv to show the difference. Also the arm lock thing doesnt matter on a cicada cause it cant move its arms to the side anyway. I'm not trying to be argumentatitve, but I honestly dont see a lot of people using it (3pv) and I've tried it a few times myself and found that I do much worse. In certain situations yes you can see a little bit over a hill and see when an enemy isnt looking at you and pop up to shoot them and withdraw in a fast or medium mech but still.....in a brawl I find that for myself I'm at a noticeable disadvantage, and my seismic sensor becomes useless since I cant see my minimap. For the sake of holding the devs to thier promises I guess perhaps they should allow separate queues as you allude to in your signature, I certainly wouldn't be against that just for me its not as big of a deal as I thougt it would be. I'm far more worried about current framerate issues, lack of quality maps, the way lrms don't require LOS (they need to require LOS unless tagged or narced, just having a general tareget lock is cheap), the silly Gauss Rifle change thats about to hit that should be done to PPCs instead, and the implementation of new features like CW. I also am really worried that clan stuff is going to break the game completely. Not that you arent also worried about that stuff, but I just think 3pv isn't by any means our biggest problem now.

I also want to reiterate (not that it will be heard) that I strongly object to the pricing of all assets in this game. i am one of the people targeted by that little bit in the creative dev update saying we should cease with threatening letters or calls or whatever. I sent a very swear-filled scathing support ticket regarding my feelings on thier prices and business model and thier reply was that well......its free. What a cop out. I wasn't threatening anybody its just logic or even sound business practice does not dictate such prices and such reliance on one older, hardcore demographic to fund everything. charging 30 dollars for one or two assets in game is just silly. There are fully functioning, fully featured, very high quality entire games or game expansions for that price. All you guys are doing is encouraging free-riding. Its bad economics. Video game assets are highly elastic, meaning they are sensitive to price change. Reducing the price of everything in this game by 25 or more percent will very likely result in a more than proportional increase in sales volumes, meaning more profit and happier customers. If you guys really want to attract a younger, more diverse demographic, then how do you expect to retain them with thse prices? The core appeal of stompy mechs with lasers and tactical-ish gameplay appeals to people whether they have played tabletop Battletech or not, but the prices are entirely out of line with what is fair, or affordable for those who game at a more casual level (whom you supposedly want in your player base) or for those who have many high-quality alternatives to play and a limited pool of disposable income to be divided between those alternatives. And I don't just mean the mechs, the prices for colors and patterns isn't even within a marathon's distance of reasonable. There are plenty of colors available in the visible spectrum that you can afford to give them to us for less than 5 bucks apiece. I get it that the patterns are designed seperately for each mech, but still the colors need to be much much cheaper or give us packs of 10 colors for the price you currently charge for one.

And whats this nonsense about having to buy one package to get the right to purchase another? Its just stupid. You want to make money then then you need to give people more options of what things they want to choose thier own level of involvement especially when it costs you nothing extra to give people that choice whether its letting us pick which mechs we want in a package or simply making all of them available to everyone regardless of what they have purchased before. You folks are making the minimum threshold too high to get a free user to want to spend money and may even drive them away from the game completely Anyway, I'm sure all my typing is for naught.

TL;DR: PGI, **** yo prices, go back to econ 201 and learn the concept of elasticity.

The only reason PGI has any money is because the art team continues to produce excellent content. The concept art sold the founders on the idea of MWO, now Phoenix concept art is selling the next generation of customers. It's a damn shame the rest of the development is so far behind both on quality and quantity.

I'd like to buy both of these packages but PGI's recent track record has me err on the side of caution. Despite all of the apologies and the hurfing nothing at all changed. People get mad, you ignore their feedback, post some new cool looking concept art and ask for more money. Also it's nice to see Garth posting in this thread and not in any of the ones where the community is asking for a response.

My worry is that asking for people to buy into the game before any product is delivered and before 'Launch', means that they are going to expect a big backlash at Launch time. I really enjoy this game but even though they have yet to deliver on the many promises made when Founders was on offer the increase in money chasing is ruining it.

Amazing looking mechs and I do love the Medium Class, however, ever sense the implementation of 3PV and all the lies PGI/IGP have thrown at us is the reason why I have not bought either of the two packs, nor will I hand my money over to them until two things happen.

First: Sense 3PV is clearly not going anywhere, but if they made it so that if you can't see any one in 1PV then you can't see them in 3PV. This will make every one happy as it removes the periscopeing and I don't think any one would have a problem if they allowed 3PV to have the mini map and all that stuff you would normally have in 1PV as they are now balanced.

Second: Make sure that the new UI2.0 actually has some kind of drop limiter like drop weight limits or something to stop the lop sided matches where one team is nearly all Assaults vs a light weight team. This would also have a possible benefit of limiting the amount of PPC+Gauss being on the battlefield. It won't solve the meta problem as I doubt PGI can, but its at least something.

If PGI does these two things, I will then spend money, other wise, no deal.

Sorry, I cancelled my Phoenix order. Didn't want to cancel and would have bought this package as well...but I am not your core demographic apparently. You insisted on this 3rd person {Scrap} after you said I would never have to play against someone in a 3rdpv queue.

Instabuy for me too and no takebacks. :)

And I was totally like...

The rest of you who don't do this because of the state of the game and whatnot are just sad disenfranchised mechwarriors. I pity thee. :(

I'd love to buy these, and an overlord package.

But I can't justify it.

I can't even blame 3pv. Or the broken promises, or aimless meandering the development path seems to follow.

I can't play long enough to evaluate it. Too many CTD's and a progressively less stable build patch on patch. If I'm going to throw money at a game, I'd like to actually be able to play it. I'm not going to pay in advance for something that's simply not getting fixed.

Not to derail this thread, but I'll give you a simple example of how I have abused 3PV to gain an unfair advantage. I poptart a lot in my Dragon Slayer that as 2 ERPPCs + 1 Gauss Rifle. Normally, I can not see any of my enemies until I have committed to a poptart and am jumping over the crest of a hill. Using 1pv, I have to maintain my jumpjets long enough to find a target and position my reticle on top of it. However, switching to 3pv, I can see over the hill and acquire a target without ever having to jump and expose myself. That way, I can just line up my shot, switch to 1pv, jump, expose my self a lot less, shoot, and repeat.

it may be a minor difference, but I really do expose myself to a LOT less potential damage because I can line up my shot without taking any risks. Compound this advantage across multiple mechs on a team over the course of an entire game, and you end up with a very broken game mechanic really quickly.

I really hope I can feel better about the future of the game before the promotion ends. I want to throw money at the game, but it's a tough sell with the current community management.

Agreed. I just dropped $90 bucks on the Overlord package because I believe in what the developers are doing. At first glance it looked like PGI was going to reward the loyal Phoenix folks by throwing in a couple mechs for FREE. Sadly I was mistaken....another $30? I'm tapped out until launch (which is hopefully in another month).

Oh... you had to go take more of my money, didn't you? And it is being released on my birthday as bonus. So looking forward to driving the Griffin.
