20 wins with a trial mech. All who complete challenge, recieve 1 week of premium time.

That would be kinda easy in the Champion variant... it would be terrible for any other trial mech.

The vtr-9k isn't terrible; sure, it needs better cooling and more ammo for the gauss, but unlike most trials it's at least playable.

Just came up with this when I thought something to play 4. Last challenges were quite easy 'cause you could use your ultra-pimped mechs in them, so this is "a little" harder.

I hadn't really looked at it closely enough. It's OK by "bare minimum standards". I'm more annoyed at the Raven and Cicada trial mechs, because of the fail that they represent.

Oh, for sure, there's no excusing the RVN-2X and CDA-3C trial builds, they're awful. But that's not really surprising, given that both of them are light mechs with standard engines and ballistic hardpoints as 35/40 tonners; both variants are really quite bad even when customized. At leas the cicada has a PPC.
And I'm not going to pretend that the victor is going to do new players any favors; when testing it, I found that regardless of the map, its single heatsinks couldn't deal with the heat generated by 2mplas and 1 srm4 once you run out of gauss ammo and go looking for a brawl. An experienced player might do okay with it, but it's sketchy at best. I'm just saying, for a trial mech/stock loadout, it's one of the best ones we've seen.
