I think it's about time to add some new content.
It's a good thing that they giving up to keep timeline because I tatally wasn't ready to wait 50 years for some cool stuff but I think that the game should get more weapons just because it's getting boring.

Why can't we have
ER medium lasers
ssrm 4
UAC 2 and 10
Roto ac 2 and 5
medium range missiles

And there is other very cool stuff like Blue Shield and not only.

I don't think they "gave up" the timeline. They just aren't following it on a 1:1 basis to real time any more.

The game is still set sometime just before the clan invasion, so none of those weapons are likely to appear until after the clans arrive.

They gave up the 1-to-1 timeline, not the 3050 timeline. So we still won't get those weapons for a little while, until Clans show up at least. Besides, we have a lot of weapons that are under-utilized now (flamer, small lasers, SRM2) and adding more weapons would just further make such weapons useless.

I don't even know what's better unused heapons or 6 flammers blackjack and 6 MG + flammers Jagers like what happened right after the patch.

Small lasers can be helped by adding a bit more ranger (or/and ER version) and a latform that can pack more of them than HBK-4p does.

Well I can see this: a bit more range and better cooldown and hunchies pack 9 of them running around with a 275 engime at 98km/h
Flammer could do if it could overheat an enemy not just heat it up a bit

Again? We just got the Kintaro and another patch. Now wait until the game releases instead of constantly demanding new stuff. Meanwhile, read a book.

I think everything you listed is at least 5-15 years ahead in the timeline.

The blueshield however, I think is one year away ( along with the Thunderbolt LRM )

You should alter the poll to include weapons already in the timeline like...

Arrow IV Artillery,
Long Toms
Thumpers
Blazer Cannons
Targeting Computers
Hardened Armor
Alt. Ammo Typing
etc.

The ER small and mediums lasers should be in already. The others you will have to wait for.

For Clan tech, yes.

For IS tech, not even close.

I miss my Heavy Gauss from MW4; I once took the leg clean of a Jenner with one shot, it was awesome.

How about weapons that actually existed at the time?

Binary Laser:
An energy weapon which is pretty much just two large lasers strapped together, making it even heavier than PPCs/Large Pulse Lasers. This thing weighs 9 tons, is ridiculously heat-inefficient, and (assuming it gets beam duration like other lasers) will melt you to a pile of molten slag if the entire beam hits the same location. Prototypes were around in the mid 2800s, but only with the re-introduction of double heat sinks does this thing even become close to usable.

Mech Mortars:
A very early technology, although traditionally classified as missile weapons, these things could fill in the gap on the Ballistic lineup (.5 -> 6 tons, currently). They were originally designed as indirect fire weapons, but fell out of use in favor of LRMs. However, with recent advancements with electronic warfare technologies, they have begun to make a comeback, as they don't require locks to fire. Mech mortars come in 4 variants: MM/1, 2, 4, and 8 (weighing 1-8 tons, respectively).

The values and mechanics would likely have to be changed from tabletop values to make these weapons fit with the game, but as they were never overly common weapons, I doubt anyone would mind the numbers getting played with a bit.

How about an Ultra LBX10 Scattershot! The idea of a MechWarrior equivalent of a pump action Shotgun would be really interesting. I can see it now in action while carrying out Tunnel clearance in the Frozen City scenario.

I also support the idea of different variants of the LBX; maybe a 5, 15, 30 to go with the 20 which is already in lore. Others have discussed different types of Ammo; this is an important area and should be looked into further. Imagine an LBX 5 Scattershot firing APDU sub-munitions http://www.google.co...AJNC_YbOUnVeKQ.

The maximal tech for MWO could be choosen until 3060 - because we have allready semi active LRMs in game (TAG guided LRMs for indirect fire) - developed around the 60s by ConCap

None of those weapons would fit on any BattleMech without the ability to split a weapon across multiple locations - an ability currently absent in MWO, and one that was not on PGI's agenda as of ATD 38.

I'd love a Arrow IV launcher... talk about a Catapult with an attitude.

Personally, I'd love to be able to pilot a ASF too, but we all know something like that is WAYYY too much to ask for. ;)

Sadly these weapons aren't out yet. We have Long Toms in the form of Artillery Strikes.
I'd Like to see the Streak-4 and 6's but I have no clue what Roto AC2's are.

No.

We have enough weapons that are unsuable. Complete pulse-line is useless, gauss has become extremely underwhelming,
srm hit detection is off and "will be fixed at the next weapon overlook".
PPCs are actual fine I think.

Stay with the source material, because Battletech is awesome, but give us the possibility to actually use what is in the game.
