http://www.computera...-new-cryengine/

came across this link

"Since CryEngine 3 was launched in 2009, we've dramatically changed the engine so many times, with so many major new features, it's not the same engine anymore,"

any chance this effects us?

As far as what has been hinted at, the Crytek people have not been assisting with engine issues for MWO, while they do assist for other games.

At some of the new ps4 launches, the video shows cry engine 3 being used. Which is a good thing since ps4 is the most powerfull next gen console, and if they are using cryengine 3 also, then MWO went with a modern engine. I myself know nothing about these thing's though.

Different levels of licence give different levels of support. I would imagine it costs a lot more to get Crytek support with their game engine than it would just for the licence to use it, especially with a free to play model game. Pretty sure the founders funds would've covered it though.

Dont think we will be getting the latest update of the engine.

As far as I can tell there is no support for DX9 in the new Cryengine. (3.5.x)

At least, thats what they mention on the site, and what happens in the sandbox. (you cant use dx9, only 10 or 11)

I guess if there was only a small amount of people still running on DX9, and they could be bothered to move everything over to the new updated engine.......then maybe......but its doubtful.....at least imo.

We're already in CryEngine 3.4 (and the conversion from 3.0 to 3.4 broke so many features it took 9 *months* just to get it stable again).
