So with the Kintaro fixed now. I decided to take it for a stroll last night. I started with my Golden Boy but forget that build Ill go into the Kintaro 18. I don't usually share my builds, but Its time to show the OP of the streak damage system.

First Grab a Kintaro 18 then do the following:

Standard Trick Outs: DHS/Endo/BAP

Weapons:

5x Streaks 4-5 tons ammo
2 Med Lasers

XL 340ish engine

Slap in the rest of the tons with armor and DHS.

Add a Awesome paint job and call it a day.

With Speed Tweek mine goes about 110. It's armor holds better now and has up has a heat efficency of 1.5+. The damn things a beast
I shouldn't be pulling off several 700+ games with this just aim and click mech but I do and consider it seriously OP especially if there is enought anti ECM around. Hopefully enough of these on the field will show that Streaks have no business being at 2.5 damage.

Note: You can do the virtually the same loadout with Golden Boy. He goes a tad slower due to engine contraints.Just add a third Medium.

I've had it for a few week too lol. With the Hit box fix however I pulled it back out of the bay. I took it out and man the damage is just insane for so little work.

I think you can do better in streakcat.Trade speed for armor,DHS,ammo...but not so much speed.

No articulated arm on that streakcat. Don't you find it hard to maintain missile lock?

streakcat also gets jumpjets which greatly improve the effectiveness of streaks. "i can shoot you but you cant shoot me"

A1 vs Knt has some trade offs for sure:
Kint is harder to neuter, faster but the A1 has the JJ thing and slightly more armor but imho that is negated by how easy to disarm. The Kint also has the ability to fight(if only alittle) when they are out ECMed.

While the streakcats good. Going 110kph which can keep up with lights for a few seconds and out manuvering the bigger mechs seems to have bigger advantage. Also the Streak Cat can't support a backup weapon and lasers are real useful, when encountering ecm

Troll thread is troll thread.

Streaks do virtually nil pinpoint damage. You are spreading 700 points over the entire mech.

This may be a threat to lights but it's not much of a threat to anything else.

I'll take 200 pinpoint over 700 spread any day of the week.

You take that mech up against anything with PPCs, ACs, etc. and that XL engine will be blown in seconds and you'll be here QQing about how streaks suck.

Better yet try x5 SRM2's on chainfire.

8 DPS weapon that fires every .5 sec's and never stops firing.

Yup. First thing I do with Streak OR SplatCats is focus a few alphas on one arm. Amazing how much less fearsome they are with half their armament.

What do you mean out ECMed?

Slap a BAP on the thing and be done with it.

I have done 700+ in my golden boy and 600+ in my 18. It's pretty fun but it does require some skill and some dumb opponents. Especially with the CT change I feel like I am in a mech again.

I have done 1000+ in a centurion, I routinely do 300-600 in almost any hunchy build, Work well in dragons. I think it's just a skill thing honestly. Stick-move-draw-ambush

Funny most of my kills were against Heavy and Assaults Mechs last night. Legs and arms aren't that armored and I did bring up back up lasers. As to spread out damage; With the 7 potential locations that streaks hit (in reality 4 as they tend to go to legs and arms at first) A mech gets whittled a way pretty damn quick. Take in that the make takes for ever to have heat issues, makes that fire a constant. As to it being effictive against lights only my one low game was against a swarm of ECM lights. My Lance still beat them away but they blocked my BAP and focused fired on me. I personally disdain Streaks and thought 1.5 was perfect damage for them. But then again you wouldn't know that unless you read other post I have read. Once Streak 4's and 6's come in to play they will lower the damage therefore bein inconsistant which is annoying. I actually prefere SRM's and run them on most of my Medium Mechs.

BAP has largely made that a non-issue. Unless youre fighting more than one ECM mech at once, in which case the Kintaro is in trouble too because its 2v1.

The amount of damage it takes to blow a Streakcats arms off would kill a Kintaro outright.

Always awesome to have other Medium pilots around.

I can agree that the mech will exploit weaknesses in armor. Folks who strip armor from the legs live and die by it. It's great when you miss an AC or PPC shot and the leg instantly goes red ...

I wouldn't call streaks OP- if you only have 1-3 launchers they are nothing more than an annoyance or distraction to most Mechs. Its when you get up to 4-6 launchers that you have a primary-worthy weapon. Since very few Mechs can run 4-6 streaks, I don't think that the current streak weapon profile is imbalanced. Once the spread damage/hit detection of SRMs is back in the game, you'll see more of them around- the pinpoint accuracy of the SRMs (comparatively) to the streaks' random damage will have the streaks being a secondary weapon soon enough.
