Lost 5-10 FPS and can't turn damage glow off anymore.

Also take a big hit if I see any 3PV players.

On my high end computer nothing changed. On my low end gaming laptop performances tanked. It was about 30-40 yesterday, it is not 10-20. Unplayable :D

Also, this has nothing to do with 3PV. I don't use 3PV and framerate went down no matter what.

  • I was running the game before the patch, happy as a clam with my 35-55 FPS. (The 35 is in areas of heavy smoke or fog). I downloaded the patch, without changing ANY settings, and now I have on average 12-35 FPS! I double checked that my setting were unchanged, and they were the same. At this frame rate the game is next to unplayable.
  • My performance is bad all over the place now. The FPS is consistently low after installing the patch.
  • I had everything turned up to "High", with the exception of shadows on "Low" and anti-aliasing on "Off". Damage glow was turned "Off". Now I have everything set to medium and I'm still at 25-35 FPS.
  • Average Pre-Patch FPS: 35-55. Post-patch FPS: 12-25.
  • [spolier] Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit, 8 gigs RAM, Nvidia GeForce 670M 1.5GB GPU, 2.2 QUAD i7[/spoiler]
  • My connection speed did not change to my knowledge.
  • Please PGI, look into this issue. I've spent a lot of money on MWO, and want to keep playing. But if this FPS issue is not resolved soon I will not be ABLE to continie :P Thanks for looking into it.

fall from 25-30 frames down to 10-15, no gfx settings changes (have been set as low as possible since install).

also playing from New Zealand and have usually been sitting on about 220-300 ping, but now I seem to get lag spikes every minute or so, and rubberband severly, often being displaced 80-100m sideways of where I originally was when the spike started. mostly it seems to happen when there are light mechs present and using JJs

been running my HBK-4SP with the 275 engine, and it seems the game doesnt detect my turns half the time, as in when there's a spike it hasnt detected that I've turned (cos i'm often running circles around people) and puts me where i'd have ended up had I been dumb and not turned away from the ac20 wielding atlas.

system specs are as follows:

windows 7 home
i7 - 2600
4gb RAM
Nvidia GT520 (really want to upgrade)
1.2Mb/s internet connection.

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Horrible, went from a solid 50 FPS to now after patch in the 20s and many times randomly lowers to 5. Game is unplayable.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
no apparent reason, moving, not moving, mechs in sigh, nothing in sight, different maps, 1PV, 3PV. etc.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
I use custom (someplace near mid). Lowered settings and no improvement.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
80s menus, 50s in game BEFORE patch. after patch 5-30 in menus and game. unplayable

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?

Absolute GARBAGE. The 12v12 took my FPS from 60 on low settings with 1280x768 res and all the extra {Scrap} turned off to a mildly choppy and playable 35-40 FPS. Adding the ability to turn off damage glow didn't do a damn thing to help performance. Now with THIS PATCH I'm running 15-20 FPS. The game is unplayable. I will no longer contribute funds for MC, premium time, or any other mech pack of any sort until I see a patch that will improve performance instead of making it take a {Scrap} on itself. If this isn't fixed I'll be filing a support ticket for a refund on my phoenix mech pack. What's the point of spending $80 for a product I can't even use?

  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.

Lobby, when my mech starts, when I move, when I shoot, when other mechs shoot me. Get the hint?......

  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?

Fullscreen

V-sync: OFF

Motion Blur: OFF

System Specs: Low

Anit-Aliasing: OFF

Damage Glow: OFF

PRE 12v12 PATCH: 60-65 FPS ingame

POST 12v12 PATCH: 35-40 FPS ingame

CURRENT PATCH: 15-20 FPS ingame

Never payed attention to menu FPS since it didn't affect gameplay.

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
low FPS after 20th patch and the one before

sounds effects sometimes are not played (like weapons fire and hits)

latency Isssues as far as multiple mechs showing up when they are already in close proximity or no display off the mechs but of the effects from weapons fire.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
FPS while fighting dropped from around 25-30 before 20th patch to 5-12 after patch.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Video settings: Post Processing low, AntiAliasing off, Particles med, all others high
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
did check with Fraps. Avg FPS before patch 29 after patch 27. main issues not in average fps but when more mechs and particles are displayed

EDIT: i noticed that the fps issue are worse in the "older" modell cockpits (centurion, awesome) than in the newer ones (highlander)

FPS dropped a lot since yesterday. It seemed like the hotfix from the other week was somehow reverted. I lost about 10 FPS average by downloading the August 20th patch. I went from 28-38 FPS from the hotfix to 20-30 FPS.

I have all settings on Low, still getting 45FPS, however everything looks slow, and rubberbanding happens every match. Even starting up the client, the loading screens run very slowly. Never had this issue playing before, not running any other programs, CPU and memory usage low while in game.

Anyone else getting this issue?

I used to get a solid 60FPS at very high settings, 1920*1080.

After this update I switched to low settings, disabled VSync, and even then I only get about 20-30 FPS. If I leave the settings like they were before the patch, I'm down to 10-15FPS.

Running on an i7-3770K, GTX770, 8GB RAM. Tried a full reinstall of the game, and updating my graphics drivers, no effect. Please do something about this devs.

I actually had a torjan bitcoin miner installed on my desktop, and assumed it was the patch's fault that the game ran so slow. So yeah, the issue was on my end, sorry devs.

I don't know what you did folks since the forums were down but FPS were back to normal today. It's like if a magic patch had been deployed but I am back to my last week's decent performance. So, thank you!

Hope the same is true for anyone else who was complaining (like me) in this thread.

Not generally affected my performance but am on high end computer. What I have noticed is shots seemingly missing, no hit notification and then insta death. For example i was getting shot at by ac20 wielding mech with very little centre torso armour. He fired it flew past no hit display either shake or red on hud and then death. Looked to me like it missed completely then rewind and dead.

I'm on a relatively high ping 220 ish.

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • How had the patch generally affected your performance? -slower, clunkier. not as smooth.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes. -mech lab fps at about 52, down from 60+
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? -was running medium settings prior to patch ~25-30fps, have to run them on low to even get ~20fps. drops to around 10 in a major scrum.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS) -see above.
  • System specs -amd A6 oc'd to 4.3ghz, 8 gigs memory, Geforce GTX 650 GPU.
  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location - average around(edit) 188/USA - went back and looked at my ping over the weeked, it's now around 188ish, which is a huge bump in ping and hit to performance. borderline unplayable.
overall perfomance is down over the last 2 patches. the game feels clunkier and more clumsy. overall fps is down by about 5-10% which is not fun in the larger scums we get into now with 12v12. Rivercity night is damn near unplayable with all the folks running around and all the enviroment that has to be rendered. Frozen City is just as bad, though the night map is better with out the blizzard. FPS also seems to drop when night or thermal vision is turned on.
