OK here is the question. Are you having fun when you play? Not is the game perfect or do you love PGI etc. But are you having fun? Are you not having fun? Are you not sure? Well vote in the poll so we can see :)

Also if you have time explain why.

I'm having fun. I don't know about the "High end" scene. But the battles I've been in aren't solely dominated by one weapon at the moment. 12 v 12 has made the battles feel bigger. And I have fun with my Blackjacks. So I'm having fun.

But I'm really curious to see how UI 2.0 and CW go. Since one will make the interface nicer and add other features hopefully. But CW will give another excuse to jump into more battles.

What is the point of this thread?

Thousands of people play the game daily. Many spend quite a lot of money while doing so.

The point of the thread is I think MOST people are having fun playing. And I think the sky is falling crowd is a minority. http://games.slashdo...mmunity-warfare So I was curios how the poll would come out.

True. But where does / did the money go? Certainly not into improving the overall game experience.
But to calm things down: I would never say to another person that this is a bad game. I would tell someone else to try it.
But for me as an old Battletech Veteran this game isn´t Mechwarrior or Battletech. This game is average counterstrike with Battlemechs in a fancy cryengine look.

You have access to their accounting? You know precisely where the money is going? You know for sure that no money has been directed towards improving the game? I suppose the tutorial that will be on the test servers soon is just vaporware. I apologize if that sounds like sarcasm, but it is constantly remarkable to see how many people with so very little information make such sweeping statements.

This game is MechWarrior; it is much like the old computer titles in many, many ways. No, it is not Battletech; the fact that it isn't a turn-based strategy game made that obvious from the outset. MW:T is open for Beta, though, if that is what you are seeking.

It's fun in very short spurts (a few hours), but then I get bored of the same old tonnage-warfare alpha-strike deathmatching and take a break for several days or longer.

I can tell you that in my past experiences the game has improved. It was downright unplayable at points during the early beta. Now it's more stable and more balanced then it has been. And they've had to post pone certain features like collision and add movement reduction on sloped angles. So what were you expecting the game to be like by now?

Seems like your poll may give somewhat skewed results, as you have one positive, and three which are effectively negative, thus spreading out all of the negative votes among three separate options.

Roland we can just add things together to get totals :) The reason it is setup this way is to give the most common choices I have seen. There are really three main choices yes, no, maybe and I just deleted the game. The reason I added the deleted option is that they can only speak to how they liked it in the past not today.

It's sad but forum warrior has been the better of the two things PGI is working on.

Oh Sorry. My mistakes:

1. Mechwarrior has got nothing to do with Battletech. Battletech is ONLY the turn based tabeltop game with no relation what so ever to Mechwarrior. The two Universes are completley different.
2. I´m am absolutley convinced and you are absolutley right that the investment into test servers and creating tutorial has always to be higher on every to do list compared to such minor things like:
- Game Mods
- Community Warfare
- Timline
- Clans
- Improving Maps
- Improving Mechs
- Tweaking of hitboxes in case of the Cataphract making it work at all.
- Matchmaking
....and other things that are of no interest ot impact on an online game.

I´m not apologizing for this beeing sarcasm

I agree with FupDup... I enjoy the game in short bursts - no more than 3-4 matches a go. Any more than that am I start to see the limitations and it starts to frustrate me. Having more fun playing WoT and WarThunder to be honest.

I've been playing for almost a year, several thousand matches, leveled to elite all mech chassis except the new ones - Victor, Blackjack & Kintaro. I've slowed that down due to the c-bill grind. I'm sick of the maps - I mean how hard can it be to create a bloody map. I'm sick of conquest / assault - how hard can it be to put in random start locations or any missions. I'm sick of the negativity on these forums and I'm sick of PGI not listening to the fan base to correct many of the games issues.

Not so fun anymore.

Why? half the battle of having fun in MWO is the convergence of strong rig performance and ip provider (this makes it harder to bring friends from other games)

Once you get over that hurdle you are met with other game issues.(insert your opinion here)

Now for is it or can you look pass these and still have some fun? Yes, but enough fun to invest money in to it is the real question and the answer for me is no. Worth upgrading for? No. Could it be? yes and the biggest one Do I have faith it will be? Sadly No.

To much we have changed our minds, changed course on this day didn't you get the memo? There is no clear future vision of the game(as it keeps being modified) even tho it was laid out and as things changed most of us went along and said" we don't like it ,but as long as we have our little space we will deal with it.

Every change runs the risk of shaving off community members but lately it seems like were a snake shedding its skin completely.

Will I still play? Sure from time to time. It is free to play, but I wont invest in it and a game without enough paying player base will not be able to keep servers running.. Hope that it gets focused and shapes up soon, if not I would rather wait 8 to 10 years for a new attempt at the ip then watch it become a modern dumbed down version.

Just my opinions and would say to anyone try it yourself and judge.(and see if holds up over time) I'm not a hardcore player or a purist, just a gamer.

I voted for "Deleted the game" until they finally deal with hit detection issues. The UAC5 spam was a huge step in the wrong direction as well.
