No sarcasm is involved. I was just stating a cold, hard fact.
Also, I am a so tired of people claiming they're "competitive" players and that they have "very high" Elo. My previous post is just expressing my views on the former. As for the latter, Elo is not published. So at best, it's also all imagined.
I don't care about people's perceived notions about themselves. I think I'm a mediocre player with a mediocre ELO. Part of that is that I don't play a lot and I am sitting on my couch playing on a big screen TV instead of in a proper gaming environment, but I'm honest about it.
But you were dead on about the competitive scene in this game being non-existent.

So much hate for a game still in beta

. Why should there be a competitive scene in a game who's current condition is in constant flux?
This is funny for a few reasons.
Number one is, if this game was polished and well made, you would have had competitive scene the moment open beta started. Flux or not, if a game is good, players will play it.
When most games go into open beta it's not to make major shifts in the game's paradigm (not that it doesn't happen sometimes), normally it's to stress test and have those extra people in the game catching the little bugs.
PGI entered Open Beta entirely too early and squandered it.
Number two is, the game really hasn't fundamentally changed in about 6 months. It's still long range alpha battles (if you are playing truly competitively), and it's not as if they've added new game modes, created dynamic drops or made medium mechs relevant.
Many competitive teams have straight up said they have to do things like sync dropping, forced no 3PV and tonnage limits to even have fun.
PGI has failed to foster any kind of good will towards these players.
It's a mess.
