You know how SRM shoots in 2 salvos even if you alpha strike?

So we have alpha strike penalty on a weapon that can't alpha strike

I have 2 stalkers , one with 5 LRS and one with 2LRS,4MED and 4 srms 6.

With 19 double heat sinks one with srms can't use both lasers and srms more than twice and not overheat .

SRM ment to increase your dps at short range but it just dosen't work because you can't use your lasers if you keep spamming srms .

The hole aplha nerf was pretty radical . Nerf PPC by nerfing everthing right

I know...
Its great to know that not every loadout is going to work as well as you want and that you have to spend some time actually tweaking and reworking a loadout.
I seriously love how it takes some thought to get things working the way you want

Theres a lot of mechs that have more than 4 Missile slots . I actually had to sell my master catapul cuz he had 6 and missiles not so good anymore .

SRMs launch depending on your tubes. Plenty of mechs can launch an SRM6 in a single salvo.

As far as heat go, SRMs are up there with Balistics in heat efficiency, and weigh a lot less. I fully understand why the set the limit to 3 SRM6s (though why 4 SRM4s isn't ok is beyond me), particularly when very few mechs can even mount more than 3 SRMs (let alone mount them effectively, stupid NARC tubes).

they had to make SRM4's 3 as well due to linking the heat penalty.

But yes, you need to look at the # of missile tubes, it makes a big difference. For instance, a Raven 3L only has one tube in the left arm. Putting an LRM20 in that arm is probably not a good idea. :)

The reason for the suposed two salvoes is the missile bay doors on your stalkers. The arms have doors that open and close to prevent damage to the internals, with the doors manually opened using the default key (the / key IIRC) there is no delay. But, there is also a risk of taking a shot to the area and having increased damage taken by them not being closed thus you lose the arms faster.

The downside is the bay door indicator light which is part of the cockpit itself is currently broken, but it is also pretty {Scrap} only going from green to yellow making the already TEENY light near useless. On the catapult its the two green dots on the cockpit braces either side of the main forward window. The stalker however I've not actually looked for (though I suppose in a similar near to the cross hairs location) due to their near uselessness when working.
