This topic may or may not get dumped into the void, but I just have to ask what the heck happened to this:

Quote

You will play a key role in a dynamic and ever-changing universe where player exploits impact the world around you and daily story updates and frequent content additions create epic changes to the Inner Sphere universe and its many inhabitants.

My role isn't dynamic, the universe isn't changing, there are plenty of player exploits (not the ones I was imagining), they don't impact the world around me much (unless you include the amount of grief that's involved), and there aren't many updates that are note worthy let alone on a daily basis. As far as being EPIC, my dog taking a dump has more epic nature than this game.

Seriously, I love the game and the whole idea of what was originally posted in the announcements loooong ago. However, you guys arent being very forth coming on information to your player base, and I mean the ones that pay out money. I'm not a founder, but I have shelled out as much money as a founder pack would had cost. I read the post here in this section and I see a lot of double take and smoke blowing.

Regardless of peoples' views on 3pv and flush systems, OP Gauss PPC builds, and spider hit boxes, I want to know when we are getting the main things that we were told would be out before now. Things like CW and the Clanners. Also, why in the world would you add 12 man que, keep four man and ditch 8 man? With launch right around the corner, people should be excited, yet all I see in the forums and game are doom and gloom. Come on PGI, straighten up and fly right.

Clanners, UI 2.0, DropShip Mode, Community Warfare, Tutorials, Simulation experience, useful trial mechs, Voice Chat (C3), MASC, functional net-code, 1:1 Universe Time Scale and much much more. All of it canned.

Edit: canned for launch. supposedly they are all on the backburner.

Only two things in that list were "canned" (simulation experience and 1:1 universe time scale). Most everything else was either horribly delayed or changed (dropship mode :) ).

And when did they say anything about useful trial mechs? IIRC they said something about gifting players a free mech upon completing the tutorial or something.

Well considering PGI has neglected to actually mention these existence of or implement any of these things when they said they would be, I think it is safe to say they have been canned for launch. In 2012 PGI made some very, very specific postings saying what all would be in by launch. Now launch is in 2 weeks. It has been canned.

Net code fixes are supposed to be included in tomorrow's patch (which will then allow for MASC, hopefully), a tutorial is supposedly in the works, and they said they will talk about Community Warfare at the launch party. Please explain to me how it's "safe to say" that those have been canceled?

Whether or not those things actually happen remains to be seen, but it's silly to say for sure that they never will.

canned, put away, placed on the back burner, for launch specifically. How? Because they have specifically said so.\

edit: i didn't try to break apart the last two posts here, not sure how that happened...

They are only fixing one part of netcode, and it's a maybe as to whether or not it will repair it enough for masc. The other half (hit detection) still has no ETA. Everything else, they've specifically said they are looking at later/putting on the backburner/phasing in after launch/etc etc etc\

I'm curious if they have said anything more specific about what will actually be in at launch over what's essentially a giant bug fix. Content basically.

Unless I missed something in the last week, launch is revolving around the unveiling of U.I. 2.0

As for the rest of it... so what? Development delays are a reality. It is what it is.

Yeah, I know they are a reality, but you seem to be missing to the point. Yes, stuff is delayed, I get that. I'm just curious what is actually going in at launch. I haven't seen anything about the unveiling of UI 2.0. That's the type of stuff i'm looking for, and am glad to hear. Do you have a link by chance? I'm trying to find it with the search feature but it is coming up with the most random results. All I've seen are the mock-ups that were posted earlier in the year.

There's a post pinned in this sub-forum that has a list of all upcoming features and relevant links.

If they manage to get UI 2.0 in by launch, I will be pleasantly surprised. Ecstatic really.

But (AFAIK) they haven't confirmed any features for launch; which means these features are still being worked on and internally tested, but they are not to a polished enough state yet to say with any certainty that they will be ready for launch.

And given the criticism they have received in the past for counting chickens before they are hatched, I can sort of understand why they are being quiet about it.

You can't break promises you don't make.

UI 2.0 is the launch focal point, and they need it to implement CW. There can be no launch without it, as they wouldn't actually be "launching" anything.
