Without help, targeting and radar work to 800m.

With either BAP or Advanced Sensors, the range is extended to 1000m.

With both BAP and Advanced Sensors together, you get a radar and targeting range up to 1200m.

Does that make sense?

Increasing your sensor range to 1200m isn't the most practical...

If you're a missile boat, this is pretty much a must to have either BAP or Sensor Range... going the module route is useful if you're trying to shave off 1.5 tons and 2 crits (from the use of BAP)... although you would really want Target Decay as a missile boat.

BAP is a lot more useful for scouts that wish to gather info from mechs more easily...
