How about if PGI were to set it up so that in Assault, the cap points didn't unlock till 8 - 10 min into the match. This should stop the majority of the complaints about the light mech base cap rushes in Assault especially in the larger maps.

of all the suggestions i've read about fixing the cap issues, this is by far the number one most logical solution i've come across yet. It's a great suggestion StainlessSR, thanks for posting!

Problem is the average game length is 8:30 (there are stats on the site). So your effectively disabling cap completely.
Really tired of people whinging about this, its not hard to avoid, its not anywhere as fast as it was.. whats the problem?

Where in my post do you see whining? If average length is 8:30 then set the lockout to 5min. Personally, I don't have a problem with it but I get sick of being cussed at in game for capping out a match.

i didn't see any whining, just a good suggestion. Yeah, if average match is 8 min, just down the cap unlock time or something, real simple.

Better idea.
Just have the game end after 10 minutes. Whoever has most kills wins. If kills are tied, whoever has most damage per tonnage wins.
There is no need to even have a base.

Caping in assault mode is, IMHO, totaly annoying and boring. In the last days, nearly half of the rounds were won by caping. For me it is killing all fun in the battle. I'd like so see a pure Deathmatch without any caping.Only clashing of the mechs in large epic battles.
