Can anyone ID the aerodyne dropship class that's crashed in Tourmaline and Frozen City? There aren't too many aerodyne battlemech carriers out there. Is PGI's a remake like the Leopard or something brand new and unique to PGI?
If it's a remake, then the three choices I can think of are the Hamilcar, Lung Wang, and Assault Triumph.
What are your guesses?

I'd have to go look at my 3057 TRO to see what they most resemble. I am looking forward to being able to walk up to an Overlord class dropship should that ever make it into the game.

Yay internets! Realized that I don't have to wait until I get home to look things up! Out at sarna.net and found this:
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gazelle
The Gazelle class seems to look like what we see on Frozen City and possibly River City as well. On Tourmaline, that large ring makes me think that one of the more spherical or ovoid type dropships was destroyed/crashed. It is large, although, my sense of scale in MWO is off sometimes.

The large ring was (I believe) confirmed to be the remains of a Mammoth class. I think you may be right about the Gazelle being on Frozen City.

The Ring on Tourmaline is a Mammoth and there is a crashed aerodyne in the northern part of the map. I beleive it might be the games interpretation of the Leopard.

Haven't seen the aerodyne yet........I'll need to check that out sometime. Glad to see I was on the right track about the ring.

Greetings all,
As a note the aerodyne ship to the north still has two mech's strapped into the transport frames. One is an Atlas and the other is a hunchback. You can see them if you look into the ship hull, there on the left wall. (facing into the ship)
Sorry for the 3rd person images but I can get a better capture without the hud and crop the image better.

Yeah, the ring on tourmaline is a mammoth, and the drop ship on river city is a gazelle. I'd hazard a guess that thecrashed drop ships we see are also gazelles. as it would be easier to reuse art assets than create new ones just for wreckage
